I vote for Panasonic DMC -TZ25Originally posted by TeeJayy View PostHello Photographers,
I have decided to get a P&S for me, have owned Nikon Coolpix S7 before. Have narrowed down on the following options:
1. Sony DSC HX9V
2. Canon powershot sx260 hs
3. Panasonic Lumix DMC - TZ25
4. Nikon coolpix 9100
Any suggestions to decide on one of the above?

I own a TZ25.. go for it if you are on a budget. Otherwise the canon powershot, i felt the sony was slow but has some great features and the Nikon has limited manual controls.Originally posted by TeeJayy View PostHello Photographers,

My preference:
Canon
Sony
Panasonic
Nikon
But pl note that they all produce pictures of similar quality so you cant go wrong with any and they will suck at night photography and wildlife. There are best for family, travel and landscape at best.

Read online reviews, it should help you narrow it down.
Congrats dude. Share some sample images.Originally posted by sunny_ View PostBought Canon A810 at Rs 4.2k

The recently launched D3200 holds ground and now is apparently as expensive as the D5100.
A clearance sale for the soon to come D5200 perhaps (?)...
there is no news of D5200.. Nikon refreshes its cameras typically every 2yrs so the D5100 still has a yr left. the D7000 is 2yrs old now so logically they it will be updated first..

Getting a GoPro HD Hero2
Finally after a long wait I managed to find someone coming down NOT from USA buy from Australia to carry a GoPro HD Hero2 Motorsports Edition camera for me
Costed me 279 AUD ~ 15400 INR as compared to 23000 INR available at DSG (P.S: No India warranty available with the camera, DSG one has 1 year replacement warranty)
Also got a 32GB Class 10 SDHC card for the camera. Will post the box pics & review once I get it. Also did not bother to buy extra battery pack or extra mounts as its easily available at PlanetDSG. Might go for the LCD backpack soon though.

Why not considering TZ30? Read here Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 review | Expert Reviews TZ30 seems better than the SX260 at few points (HDR, touchscreen etc) except the sensor. Still my vote goes for the Canon.Originally posted by TeeJayy View PostHello Photographers,

I finally got the Hx10V (9V being out of production since long) for the added features, plus got a good deal on Sony. I am loving it

One small information/caution: Those who are looking for Panasonic, please remember that the rendering of greens and reds is not as attractive as Canon or Nikon. Canon is the best to produce pleasing colors. Just my experience and thought.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler

Attached a fewOriginally posted by sunny_ View PostThats what matters in the end, now post few sample pics.

I have kept my resolution to 10MP. Most of my photo viewing is on my laptop screen. Last weekend, I viewed some of the pics on a 40' LED, the clarity, sharpness was brilliant but on the laptop it is no where close. Any idea why? N what can be done to make the pics look best on my laptop screen (15')?

From my little experience and knowledge, in PnS cams, Sony* has got more "vivid" colour tone in its cams, followed by Canon and Nikon.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostOne small information/caution: Those who are looking for Panasonic, please remember that the rendering of greens and reds is not as attractive as Canon or Nikon. In DSLRs, Nikon's (D5100) have a slight yellow tinge in its photos don't know whereas Canon's are better/clearer?? Is it so?.. but still my heart says Nikon and maybe I end up buying a Nikon only(D90 probably), after an year, who knows! I'll certainly put my query here thats for sure...
*I'm talking about Sony PnS cams, those who have got Sony Lens and NOT Carl Zeiss ones (have no personal experience with W630 or whatever with CZ)

I'm selling off my almost new Canon A810 for Rs4200.
Because I think I should get a new camera for 1 year, to easily fulfill my photographic interest. I want full manual controls, aperture priority and shutter priority, are must features.
I'm currently thinking of Canon SX150.
I'll add more to the options, if I find them interesting.
My budget is ~10k!
Two more options added: Canon SX160 and Fujifil Finepix S3300
But, they're @12.6k and 13k respectively
And, I'm getting SX150 at 8k. What should I do?
Keep the low budget SX150 or put more money and get SX160/Finepix S3300 instead.
I have to use this camera just for learning and gaining more practical knowledge before entering the DSLR world(maybe after 1.5 years).

Guys.,
Planning to go for a DSLR., probably on EMI.
Looking forward to the two Entry-level DSLRs.,
Canon EOS 1100D and Nikon D3100
So, any inputs regarding these two products will help me finalize.
Am a complete amateur to DSLRs. Have read a couplah reviews.
Canon is lacking a auto-scene select feature or something., and Nikon has it., it seems.
What is it exactly? And, is it that so important? The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

If you have a budject of 29K and need a good cam, go for Canon Powershot SX50 HS. Its best in the prosumer category. I personally checked the cam and is quite happy with the picture clarity and the features. If you are not going to become a professional photographer, just go for Point & Shoot cam only.SLR's are good for Professionals. On top of Cam, You need to buy Quality Lens also to get the professional pics which is again multiples of 10K. Dont go for number of Megapixels. As any MP over 10 MP is gud unless you want to make big posters.Lens and sensors matters for the picture quality. If you have good budget, you can go for Prosumer cam. I was reading so many articles and did a large study on Cams and watched so many reviews by experts, only after that only I concluded the model for me.Originally posted by aman15 View PostI might be buying a new camera soon.. My father has agreed for Dslr too. But i am having doubt ..
I am completely amature when it comes to photography.. And dont know much about the cameras..
So question is which camera to buy ?? Having budget 29k.. And what i should look for in camera.. Is there any good alternative for Dslr?? Is it good to buy Dslr as your 1st camera??
Camera Quality in India goes in order
Canon
Nikon
Sony( with Carl Zeius lens)
Panasonic
Fujifilm
Olympus.......
My budject for a cam was 20k. After watching reviews, my choices were Canon SX50 HS, Nikon P510 & Sony DSC-HX200V. Since Canon SX50 price was 29K, I removed it from my list as I have to add 10K to my budjet.Among the other 2, my fav was Nikon P150.But still confusion was around as the picture sharpness in Sony is better than Nikon. I asked my friends who went for a short visit to Dubai to check the prices there for these 2 models and one of my friends is a professional photographer too. Prices seems to be same as here. But the sales guy showed the features of the Cam to them, My friend was so much impressed with NIkon P510. Even the sales guy straight away told to reject sony and take Nikon. I finalized the model for Nikon P510. Last week went to Ezone and bought the cam.Its really awsome Cam. Couldnt explore all the features as I didnt get time for that. But i can straight away recommend this one also.
Features of P510.
16.1 MP
CMOS sensor
42X zoom, 2X Digital zoom
Full HD Recording
GPS tagging and so on.
