Lol yeah. Just imagine the focal length with a 300mmOriginally posted by Aryan View Post^2x crop factor!??
Damn!
600mm!
Damn! It's great for telephoto lovers like me
and the kit lens provides almost the same equivalent focal length as the Canikon kit lenses, so you get 'thoda sa' wide angle too.
@ Yank
The 450D (XSi) and the D80 are advanced amateur DSLRs. They might be available in the grey market, but prepare to shell out at least 37-38k on the 450D and around 40-45 on the D80 (yes, I'm talking about grey market prices here)Xavier

yestarday i went to a hyper market and saw " sony DSC H50".
its really nice camera.... love the design. very light weight and The large, bright tiltable 3.0”1 Clear Photo LCD Plus™ display (230K pixels) tilts up for comfortable low-angle shooting.
the price is 1399 AED. that means around 19000rs
anyone having this camera. reviews are welcome

Unless they have changed in recent times, they would most probably also be listing grey market prices for some products. My advice would be to pick up your phone and call them for the current prices ;-)Originally posted by pageisgod85 View PostErr, I guess he was asking for grey market prices?
Also note one thing that in recent times, prices of official cameras have come down due to duty cuts from the govt. Nowadays the price diference between official and grey market items is not much if you know where to source the official cameras. Some cities are more expensive than others due to the differences in local taxation rates.

i guess then looking at the prices and features i think the nikon p90 is the most suitable. though it is not a DSLR but i think it should pretty much cover the learn to shoot phase.
thanks a lot guys and any more advice is always welcome.

I don't know about the history of JJMehta, but currently they don't list prices of stuff without bill and warrant. They don't disclose any grey prices (i.e, if they do sell grey market stuff) even on the phone.Originally posted by no1lives4ever View PostUnless they have changed in recent times, they would most probably also be listing grey market prices for some products. @ yank_2stroker
I'd ask you to look at the Canon, Fuji & Panasonice superzooms instead. As far as what I've read and seen, the P80 (not so sure about the P90) isn't all that good.Last edited by pageisgod85; 03-03-2009, 03:50 PM.Xavier

Canon powershot is best among all these, (excellent lens, quick, only con is its body which looks bulky and ugly)Originally posted by ananth View PostI'm planning to get a entry level 8 MP Digital Camera.. Have short listed a few camera's.. Help me decide the best one...

second would be dsc-730 (i own it, too much shutter-lag which is a sacrifice for excellent dimensions)
