Dunno if its still available or not...Checkout some camera stores and find out if its available in your city or not...Here in kolkata, its available in some stores not in all the stores...The model is obsolete now i think...
Bt its a great camera if u can get it...
Dude, would you please post some shots taken by the S700, especially night shots!!

It's a damn good value for money camera.I am only skeptical on the low-light performance due to the absence of Optical Image stabilizer!!

      • ^^ Hey, ya can u please post some pics... As far as i know the Fujifilm S700 doesn come with IS... So jus wanted to know how the cam is without this feature.... I am planning on buying a Fujifilm S5700 in the near future which also doesn come with IS... So any reviews of that camera would also be helpful...

        Thanks,

        Prashanth...

        • ^^^^ Here are two night shots...

          F3.5; 4s

Heres a pics in proper light situations -

^^^^This pic is with nearly 10x optical zoom, and the bikes were going around 90-100kmph...

Yes, I agree that S700 doesnt perform that well in low light situation. Its maximum aperture is 3.5. And pics are a bit grainy above ISO 400. And Yes, it doesn't have IS.

But dude, It has full manual controls giving u complete freedom. And massive 10x optical zoom. Picture quality is also very good. Has good, sturdy design and strongly build. Battery life is also very good. Has EVF as well as Live-view. Etc...
And u get all this for just about 9500rs.

I highly recommend it. According to me, Its a very good camera for this price range. But i am just a newbie in photography. Lets see what others have to say.

@Prashanth & Chicane1879 - Hope the pics were of any help. And as far as i know Finepix S700 and Finepix 5700, both are the same camera. In some country its referred to as S700 and in others its 5700. Correct me if i am wrong.

Amazing pics, dude!! Even the night shots have come up really well.A tripod would offset the absence of IS,though.10x optical zoom is more than enough if one is not into wild photography!!

s5700 is obsolete i guess, buy s2000hd, it has all the features s5700 and s5800 has got, plus you get dual IS, face detection and 15x optical zoom, HD video and photo

Iwould strongly suggest SX110IS, Nikon's Coolpix series suffers from sluggish controls!!

How much would the s2000hd cost?? I was looking at the S5700 because its in the 10000 range... Im sure i cant go above that... I'm saving from my monthly allowances to buy the camera

Thnx Dude...Yes, a tripod is needed...the two night shots were taken with the camera kept on a stationary object...I did this also coz i wanted to get the trail of headlights of other vehicles in the pic. with a 4s shutter speed. And 10x optical zoom is kinda enough for me atleast. Would have been better if it was more though...

The s700 or 5700 is obsolete but its still available in some stores. Kindly check the stores of your city. Here in kolkata, its available in lots of shops. And, Yes s2000hd has more advance features. But I said about the s700 because it was in the 9000rs-10000rs segment. I am sure s2000hd wont come within the 10000rs segment. Whats the price of s2000hd ?

@Prashanth - Dude, when i bought my camera, my budget was also 10000rs max., Thats y i bought the s700 otherwise would have gone for a digital SLR. The s700 is a wonderful camera. Its has some drawbacks but considering its price, i am happy with its performance...
