The SX110 IS is a lower spec'd cam. Budget is there for something better so why not!

The 110 IS has 10x Optical Zoom!

I too own a FZ28 and would strongly recommend Lumix, it has Leica Lens and Venus 4 processor which gives amazing saturation and great sharpness even at 22x optical!

Guys a friend wants to buy a cam. 18K is the budget....and he needs a decent amount of zoom length for showoff

Pool in ur suggestions quick, buying the cam today in bangalore!
Close your eyes and get yourself a FZ28. If you can stretch your budget a little more get 10IS. A little more and get D40.

            • Hi Guys,

Can some one tell me where can i find Fujifilm S100FS in bangalore?
whats it cost in grey market?

Are there any good cameras at this cost around 20k..

Which is best among these cameras(If s100FS found out to be far out of my budjet)

              1)Sony DSC H50
              2)Lumix FZ 28
              3)Nikon P80
              4)Canon SX10 IS

I am a noob in photography and my main consideration will be a camera with superzoom and good focussing capabilities.

actually, the latest PP (CS4) has a bug. It doesn't support RW2 extensions, which are the standard RAW format output for FZ-28. So you will need other softwares to process RAW shots from FZ-28.

@Praful: Not being biased here, the only one that comes close to FZ-28 is CanonSX10 IS, which costs alot more than the FZ.

                Advantages of FZ over Canon
                • HD recording (make sure you have atleast a Class 6 SDHC card for this).

Zoom is 18X optical at 10 MP but increases to 32.1X optical at 3MP. And this has the superb
lens where pic quality is superb anywhere in the optical zoom range.

                  Supports RAW shots.

                  Lighter than the Canon.

NiMH batteries (For me, its a big plus. For some, this seems negative).

AF Tracking mode (couple this with unlimited burst mode its easier to shoots objects on the move).

                Disadvantages compared to the Canon:
                • Screen is fixed. Really a bummer if you need to take wierd angle shots.

Photographs come out better in the Canon (This is highly debated, even in the experts forums).

my say its an obvious "must" buy.massive 14x "manual barrel" zoom.SCCD,film simulation, dynamic range, proper SLR feel, and tons more that no other company is offering.literally.

the official price for this by fujifilm india is close to 37k.expect grey to be in the range of 28-35k.

and hearing this you will obviously receive tons of replies that u can get DSLRs in this range.true.image quality better.true.but if u can understand how the camera functions, then DSLR doesnt seem as a must in the current stage.

and since you are a newbie, ill say jump into this "all in one" combo.its every penny worth.u will be satisfied after buying this.

                      anvancy.
                      there are no stupid questions.

ya I support A590 since it is one which gives better colour output in the sub 10k category

With respect to the Lens...Carl Zeiss and Leica are way up there, Sony's new alpha series uses Minolta lenses, hence its receiving alot of flak!!
