  • STOLEN!! White Mahindra Bolero - Please Help

My White Mahindra Bolero (MH 04 DY 1741 - White 2009 Bolero SLX) was stolen from Thane last night at 11:00pm.

Vehicle was parked by valet at hotel Dhiraj on the western express highway. The keys were with the valet when we came out to collect the vehicle but the car was gone by then.

Requesting ALL Xbhp riders from Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat, Karnataka, MP to please keep an eye out for white boleros in general and specifically those bearing MH plates. If you spot anything suspicious please inform the nearest constable (do not intervene on your own) to check the vehicle and give me a call/sms immediately.

Numbers: +91-9819090772 (ask for Guru) / +91-9619010318 (ask for Sriku)

    Thanks for your support!

          Hope someone spots it soon!
But I guess they will change the plates. Any other distinguishing marks/features/mods?

Is there anything else like a decal or something that should help?

There aren't any obvious identification marks on the vehicle. Some accessories:

                1. Bull bars fitted up front
                2. Windscreen devoid of all stickering (replaced yesterday)
                3. Gear lever lock fitted. You can see this between gear lever and driver seat.
                4. Large white ganpati on dashboard

nothing else that will make it stand out plus I expect most of that stuff would be gone by now.

First of all, I am sorry to hear about this gsferrari.

                  Pardon my curiosity,
                  • Is it a standard practice to park cars by the roadside for this hotel Dhiraj?
                  • Did you speak to the valet guys?
                  • Did you see who parked your car?
Somehow I feel the hotel guys have something to do with this Something is fishy

Have you put up the regn number at the "stolen vehicles sites"?

FIR filed. We got the hotel manager to come along to the police station and their part in the events of last night has also been recorded in the FIR. I have to say they were really cooperative but it is one thing to say that "The hotel is not responsible for items in the vehicle" but it is entirely another to lose the bloody vehicle itself!

I will be moving for compensation from them to cover any expenses and losses incurred through the insurance, FIR and other bribes plus also conveyance during the period from now until I replace this vehicle with another.

This is going to seriously mess up life for 6-9 months!

No - they ran out of space inside the compound but they should have informed us because we have equipped the car with a gear-lock and an alarm system designed to go off in the case of hot-wiring etc. Of course this is like Apple trying to lock their iPhones without any major success...but the systems were in place. We just didn't have a chance to use them.

Yes there is a possibility of this being an inside job but that is up to the investigators to figure out. I frankly don't want this car back after 4-5 days because by that time it will be a spare-parts bin or used in some unspeakable crime which will keep coming back over the lifetime of the car (running to courts to present it as evidence etc. isn't a very attractive proposition).

any security cameras on the outside of the hotel??? are there any villages within 50-70 kms of this location??? easiest modus is to take the vehicle there and then either change identification possibilities or dismantle. You could scout around a bit.
