  • Painting Tyres Markings

First of all i would like to say that its my first DIY(howsoever small it is) on my bike & all credit goes to XBHP

i wanted to paint my bike's tyre marking so i collected few things which are easily available.

    1. Surgical blade (Scalpel)

    2. Aerosol Paint Spray

    3. Packing tape

    4. Scissor

    5. Needle

Now after i got everything which i needed, first i cleaned my bike's tires properly & then applied tape on it & started cutting & peeling out the portion which i wanted to paint with the help of scalpel & needle, after doing that it was looking like this..

next step was to paint the desired part using Aerosol paint. I did several coatings of that paint after each couple of hours.

after repeating last step again & again finally i removed that tape from tire which made my bike's tire look like this.

This is nice but don't you think it is little bit time consuming, instead of covering the MRF and NYLOGRIP with the tape you can take a no. 2 brush and a 10 Rs paint box and brush it.But yes if by doing several coatings, this thing stays for more than 45 days your work will surely be appreciated.

yeah it is time consuming if you are doing it fist time(just like me ) but i am sure you'll love doing it..& I've also tried the second option you mentioned but that didn't last long, once it got dirty specially after getting dipped in mud, it partially got washed off & with in a week it almost got disappeared & remaining partial alphabets got yellowish tint..this time i believe that it will last long as I've done few coatings of aerosol paint on it

            Nice DIY.
I have done the method suggested by Aryan when I had a Pulsar. Man it took me almost a whole day to paint MRF in 8 places. Had to make sure that my hands never shook.

i did it by using normal paint and brush....i tool much much less time...n if u hav a steady hand the results a remarkably good...

even simler was doing with the help of an old style WHITENER/FLUID... the bottled one with a small brush...i had done it on my RX using that....results were good

Great DIY there dude!! Will definitely try on my bike. Looks nice. It'll be more informative if u write down the cost of each thing needed.
More CC or Torque or Bhp doesn't decide who wins. Its the soul of the biker. Splendour and Pulsar are the same as long as the bikers share the same passion.

things i used while doing this are very common, you can find Aerosol Paint's can for about 100-150bucks, scalpel(surgical blade) in just 5rs rest tape, scissor & needle are found in almost every house i guess, so its quiet an inexpensive DIY & will not cost you more then 200bucks in total.

                      Try this

Try the White Correction Pen. Simpler. Better. Easier.

                          I agree bro,
I used to do the same about 12-14 years back using brush and fabric colour. the result was great with outstanding finish as the colour is elastic in nature and gives you feel of white rubber, looks like it comes from OEM, but one should have good command over the brush

Painting with brush needs much precision moreover according to my personal experience, Aerosol Paint will stay on rubber more then those paints we use while brushing..

I have used brush and paint on my dio's tyres. Now it stayed for more than 2 years. Will try to post a few pics if possible.

Anyways when i tried the same on my gladiator's tyres the paint dint last for even a month.

But dont you think that sticking stickers on the tyres would be more convenient & less time consuming???
