I've done the same stuff on my Kinetic Honda; used a whitener I was practically lying down on the porch to make it work, and work, it did. For around a month or so (Carefully weaving around dirty water). But I do think that the maskingtape-coverup method is the best1

i wanted to paint my bike's tyre marking so i collected few things which are easily available.

      1. Surgical blade (Scalpel)

      2. Aerosol Paint Spray

      3. Packing tape

      4. Scissor

      5. Needle

Now after i got everything which i needed, first i cleaned my bike's tires properly & then applied tape on it & started cutting & peeling out the portion which i wanted to paint with the help of scalpel & needle, after doing that it was looking like this..

next step was to paint the desired part using Aerosol paint. I did several coatings of that paint after each couple of hours.

after repeating last step again & again finally i removed that tape from tire which made my bike's tire look like this.

      Hello,
Your idea is great but i did the same with PERMANENT WHITE MARKERS.......and its easy, long lasting and can be redone when fainted. It has no effects of water dust.

wonderful thread, I just spent 60 K on my car Tyre and was not getting the desired result on looks with it,hence planned to do the same thing, and now have so many ideas to cover it.

I will start with nish2.01 idea of permanent marker. and will move towards 111diablo111 tape technology

just a thought if we can use the "wall paint" or the paint used to color the body of car bike - even they are water proof and last long.

          what are your suggestion fellows?

Wonderful thread, very helpful. I am surely going to try this on my CAR and Bike, just spent 60 K on car alloy wheels with Yokohama tyres. And was not happy with the result L

Hence was planning to do this on the car and bike but was wondering how.

I will 1st try the permanent marker suggestion from nish2.01 and will move towards the taping technology from 111diablo111 J

Just a thought, can we use the wall paint or the CAR bike body paints for the activity, as these are also waterproof? Whats your suggestion fellows?

Guyz, another noob actin foolish (me) - Where do you get permanent white markers?? 'am sure atleast not in the regular stationary shop. Also is it a bit pricey compared to the normal colors? If yes then 'How much (approx.)'??. I have checked in 2-3 places but in vain. I know it's a bit early to give-up but would appreciate the help

I guess you need to check out in a local school stationery shop. Try reynolds permanent marker. But I doubt if you will have a while color. Maybe a whitener is what you need. Good luck!

                Re: Painting Tyres Markings

                hi everyone,

just finished marking job on my tyre. but as mentioned here , instead of white i used yellow color and simply marked outlines of the letters. I find this to be quiet neat and catchy as compared to coloring whole letters, i even marked the MRF emblem.

Used camlin PAINT marker (rs 50/-) (permanent word written on the marker) . but lets see how long it lasts, will give long term report on these marking.

                attached are the pics

Guys you guys can also use, whiteners instead of paint, cause paint takes time to dry, I don't know how much it last, once I tried it lasts for I think upto 15 days,
