3M never made LED strips, it's the double-sided tape that is made by 3M. All Indian and Chinese brands use them, nowadays LED strips are of inferior quality and prone to fail.Originally posted by sarav.sandhu View PostYes, I did change the polarity too but no results. I haven't tried another LED strip but the one I'm using was sold to me by the shopkeeper after testing it in front of me and it did glow at that time. The LED strip is from 3M(it's the original one) and i don't know where i went wrong.#RetiredRider

Absolutely right. But then always buy extra. One small mistake can blow them off.Originally posted by deville_56 View Post3M never made LED strips, it's the double-sided tape that is made by 3M. All Indian and Chinese brands use them, nowadays LED strips are of inferior quality and prone to fail.
I will tell you why it's happening. Glamour comes with a AC setup. And LEDs do blow off pretty quick with AC setup. Switch to a DC setup. That helps in any electrical modds..Originally posted by SID_BHP View PostHey Raneet bad news stripes get blown after few days help me yaar......

N what changes required??my bike is kick start.
But it had DC passing light.

If you can't get your entire setup to DC reliably, I would suggest you try making a rectifier. You can google "rectifier circuit" and make them/ get them made with few resistors, etc.Originally posted by SID_BHP View PostYes i realize that after strips blown.tell me how i convert my Glamour into DC???

Rectifier changes the AC to DC, by regulating and allowing only one polarity to pass through each output wire. Get a rectifier made, and use it in the circuit before both the LEDs.
This is more convenient than getting it all DC.---

The easiest DC conversion is a armature coil rewind+APE RR unit. There are few more ways. Best is to go through or post here for the same.Originally posted by SID_BHP View PostYes i realize that after strips blown.tell me how i convert my Glamour into DC???

Ok, no clue on this.Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostIf you can't get your entire setup to DC reliably, I would suggest you try making a rectifier. You can google "rectifier circuit" and make them/ get them made with few resistors, etc.

Superior illumination for my Pulsar 200
Okay...been going through this thread and Fully automatic DC changeover in Pulsar UGIII models. and Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
Truly appreciate the DIY guides and posts from all the guys here, especially Raneet..
Am from Bombay... Have a red '08 Pulsar 200 DTSi- All stock condition, no mods whatsoever. I bought this from a friend few mnths back. The bike's in splendid mechanical condition but am with the electricals & illumination
Now, there are 3 parts to my query-
- The electricals keep goin kaput time and again. First it was the blinkers, idiot lights and the horn. When I got them fixed, realized that the headlight doesn't come on and now the tail lamp stays in the off position. And this is barely 10 days after I got it fully serviced at the garage! (where it's been serviced by the earlier owner too). The instrument panel also acts up. Only the most useless lights -the illuminated switches have remained steady
So will a change in wiring fix all this?? Any other long-term solution?? (My mechanic says it's the sensor that needs to be fixed) - I really want to switch to DC but after going thru the threads, I'm wondering if a DIY job is a good idea...I have NO experience of tinkering around with bikes and don't want to ruin the battery ( a brand new Amaron Pro bike Rider Beta...9Ah I guess ) or blow up anything else.
The mechanics are wary of doing it...they either say it's impossible and 1 guy quoted abt 1600 for it. What is the most effective way to get a fail-proof conversion done? - I want to improve the front illumination- right now there's the std Halonix 35/35W halogen and it's unimpressive because it runs on AC current. Also the rear stock LEDs suck....they're partly flickering and Bajaj puts such shoddy ones that they don't even look like LED when lit! I doubt there are any aftermkt ones for the Pulsar....so maybe here too I wud have to go for some ingenious lighting.
Advice on this please?
I don't want any OTT lighting fixtures or pseudo-xenon projectors that blind motorists in the opposite lane.
Also, I don't plan to stick with this bike forever and might pass it on after a yr or so, so I don't want it to appear. 'modded' in any way.....so no toggle switches please Hence what I need are discreet, simple enhancements that work beautifully only when switched on
and don't compromise safety in any way
Await your help and guidance. Thanks!!Last edited by DeVille; 06-11-2012, 12:31 AM.The man who designed the Tower of Pisa was the First Biker ever...

If you ask me, Coil rewind+Ape RR unit+New wiring will be more than enough to get you going. Though this is an incorrect thread to discuss this, but still.Originally posted by DeVille View PostOkay...been going through this thread and Fully automatic DC changeover in Pulsar UGIII models. and Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc
