Great stuff! Its very useful to fix watch on bike in many ways such as time managing and also useful in long drives and make sure that fixing the watch should be done with care.

But what about visibility at night ? does that clock have a light which is hooked up to the lighting circuit by any chance ??
Now thats a good suggestion...bringing up a small LED up for the lighting wont be much of a problem...but better stick to a DIGITAL watch with the light function...the simple, the better !
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

Very GOOD mod there Aswin208!! I had done something same on my P180... So I'm gonna share my version with you.. I mounted it just above the Digital Display and behind the windshield.. I used a Digital which came with Maruti 800 (The previous model to ones coming nowadays, and it had its mounting just beside the choke lever on the dashboard). First i opened up the clock, and drilled 2 holes on the lower side of the caseing, and den after opening the windshield and headlight assy, drilled 2 holes on the plastic piece onto which the Digital meter fits..den fastened them with tiny screws. After this was done i put the clock back into its caseing and closed it up. Now for wiring this clock uses 12VDC power, so just take a Line tester and look for a wire which had current even with the ignition off(I brought out a wire directly from the +ve battery terminal) and snaked it up from under the tank and into the headlamp area.
Next i clipped in on to the clock's +ve marked wire, -ve went on chassis(fix anywhere there ground) Done!! Clock working now!! Next is the backlight, for this i opened the wolf-eye's wiring clip and took out both +ve and -ve from where it clips on to the bikes main wiring, and clipped it onto the clock's. Now ur almost done with it...u get a cool blue(searched for a orange one,but did't find any) backlight at night when u switch on the clearance light and headlights.. Then put back whatever u've opened on the front end, except the windshield..now it needed to be water-tight, so off to a mobile(cell ph.) modd shop, they got ultra thin and very clear pouch-like plastic bag-like thingy which is used to laminate the whole cell like a 2nd skin..slit 1 side of it and put it over the clock and with a hair dryer-like heater blower fixed it onto the clock, taking extra care to where the wire comes out of the clock's case so that the plastic sheet stuck snugly..done!! Put the windshield back on. Used it for around 2 yrs there after...d only thing is had to remove the lamination and replace with new one couple of times..otherwise it served well..to adjust the time its gone buttions,so even if they were pressed the lamination held on... Maybe there is better way to make it water tight...pls share if anyone comes up with any. Read ur post and rembrd, so shared..its just what i had done...maybe u can refine & make it better..pls share...tc..and again a very simple yet very good modd bro..thinking about doing it ur way this time!!! keep it up..

              Great idea..

If someone is really planning this mod, I'd recommend these magnets:
Super Strong Rare-Earth RE Magnets (20-Pack 10mm x 1mm) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme, or similar. Some aeromodelling shops might carry similar magnets.

They happen to be cheap, super strong, and quite thin (1mm). If you let them snap together freely, sometimes they chip or break too.

                  Velcro setup tested

A good idea, I experimented with a cheap analogue big dial watch with Velcro.
i.e. Velcro attached to bike handle flat surface (Yamaha R15) and other part to watch back side with adhesive. Velcro (good quality) really stick well even at high speeds (110+ KMPH)

Just take care that sticking surface of Velcro should be back side of watch plus around >1 cm of strap on both side. and use good glue preferably rubber adhesives
Drive FAST but not Rough, Drive SAFE But not Slow.
