Re: How to Install new K&N[BA-2201] For Pulsar
Ever since I installed this filter my p180ug3, engine has been heating even while riding 22Km to office..and it consumes engine oil too... but the mileage is good, I get 40-43KM/L and the acceleration has improved.. I think carb needs a re-tune.. Isn't it?A cold hamburger can be reheated quite nicely by strapping it to an exhaust pipe and riding forty miles.......... Live 2 Ride /m\\

Hi bro,Originally posted by I.S.Avinash View PostThe is the New K&N Air Filter which is introduced specially For Pulsar, I already posted the Review under General Discussion Thread and now How To install K&N BA-2201 DIY..!!
Thats It Your Good To go
Nice D I Y! I am looking for changing my stock air filter with BA22001. But I have few questions on the working of K&N filter. As you have mentioned there is no requirement of adjusting AFR after installation as it is a stock replacement filter. The function of an air filter is to filter out impurities to the maximum extent possible. A good air filter that filters well, will create a small restriction to the air flow to an engine. The K&N free flow filters seek to remove this restriction through filters made of oil dipped cotton gauze and wire mesh. In case of K&N universal filters that fit directly onto the carburetor, the air flow is quite high as the filtration is compromised greatly. Now increasing air supply to the engine while not increasing fuel supply, engine will run lean, thereby running hotter with higher engine wear after a certain threshold. So is it actually better than the stock air filter?
Does this help in changing performance and FE?
K&N filters, by virtue of increasing the air flow to the engine result in the air flow mixture becoming leaner. Therefore, it isn’t unusual to find people using K&N filter actually claiming increase in mileage of an engine. Adding a K&N free flow air filter into the equation will only make the air fuel ratio leaner, thus affecting engine life adversely. So in this case if one is looking for performance doesn't he need up jetting?Last edited by The Monk; 03-08-2014, 06:22 PM. Reason: Please don't quote the entire text and photos!b SANE to b insane!

Re: How to Install new K&N[BA-2201] For Pulsar
Whenever a Free flow Air filter is used be aware that the AFR throughout the RPM range WILL become lean than stock....and the added problem of more dust getting into the engine . It is not recommended if the owner of the bike wishes to maintain his bike in a reliable condition. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
