he's already sold the rtr and bought a new bike, unfortubnately we didnt take any pics the time when he was getting the catcon removed, you can ask ur tvs service center regarding the exact location of the catcon in the exhaust and the rest of the procedure should be similar to that for the r15's

@HarishK:How does removing cat-con increased the mileage, does it makes the mixture leaner.Do we have to adjust it with the FID after removal.
@all:Now that R15 V2 parts are easily available we can use it's muffler cover on our bikes and it will look cool too instead of that apache one which looks a bit ugly and will serve the purpose of hiding the welding place.Last edited by adi.singh1992; 06-28-2012, 12:47 PM.

Hi guys! After reading all above posts I'm very much excited to opt for either of these two modifications; that is either to go for 'Cat con'less exhaust or a FFE.Originally posted by HarishK View PostThe red R15 rider is also my friend from XBHP and he travels a lot and is very very happy with the removal. He says it has helped him in a lot in saving fuel at the same time a vibe-free ride and an amazing top speed all better than before, his mileage increased from 35ish to 45ish and a good 10Kph increase in top speed.
I'm a proud owner of Yamaha R15 V1.0 and I've done 55k+ on it and its still the stock one, no any stock part replacement or modification except the graphics.
My main focus is on a better average fuel efficiency/mileage and excellent top speed combination.
So which modification will serve me the best, 'Cat con'less exhaust or a FFE?What will be their comparative Advantages and Disadvantages?
Thanks!!!

Re: Yamaha YZF R15 - Catalytic Converter (CatCon) Removal
For bikes like rtr 180 do we have to adjust air fuel mix after removal? Its basically a free flow right but with muffler. And free flow needs tuning and upjeting..
Anyone please share some info..."Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr
