Tools Required:
1) Philips head screw driver provided in the tool kit
2) New Air Filter:
How To:
Step 1)
Remove the seat.
Step 2) Remove the rubber boss (marked 1) from the clamp and unscrew the screw marked 2,3,4,5
Please note that the screws are deep inside and you won't be able to take them out, just unscrew them completely and let them stay where they are.
Step 3) Lift the rubber part near the boss and then lift and pull out the air box cover by holding on to the snorkels. Take out the air box gently, the screws will still be inside their housings so be careful that you do not invert this or else the screw will fall down. You should see the dirty air filter:
Step 4) Simply lift the air filter and take it out, you should see the metal screen + wire mesh inside:
Now clean the whole area with a dry or slightly damp cloth, basically just remove dust from all surfaces
Old vs New!!! I was slightly shocked at the how much the factory air filter had got dirty and how clean the new air filter looked besides it!!
Step 5) Place the new air filter in the box, do not worry about the orientation, the air filter frame is built such that there is one and only one orientation in which the filter will fit so you cannot go wrong even if you wanted to.
Step 6) After cleaning the underside of the air box, the snorkel vents and other surfaces, pu everything back together in reverse order. As a habit I screw in diagonally opposite screws first, this is optional. hand tighten all screws, no need to unnecessarily show your muscle power.
Additional useful remarks:
For Dazzler the air filter replacement is every 15000kms, earlier if frequently riding in rain, dirt or dusty conditions. I changed my filter at 15222km and you can see the amount of dirt that was trapped.
There is a noticeable amount of increase in air flow, the bike revs a tad bit smoother but the very noticeable increase in exhaust popping means that more air is going in the engine! In my opinion stick to stock air filters, KnNs and stuff are pretty much a waste of money, even the stock replacement KnNs.
The air filter for Dazzler is the viscous paper type. Do not try to clean your old filter. It cannot be cleaned by blowing compressed air from opposite direction because the dirt is trapped between the paper layers in oil. These types of air filters are use and throw so just do that. In any case the filter is CHEAP and will last for 15000kms so not worth your time, effort & risk to clean. Simply replace! The sticker on the side of the air filter says this pretty clearly:

In case you decide not to create a new thread then kindly rename the title to reflect the procedure for both bikes. Also I think your title is misleading since the DIY is about replacing the Karizma filter and not cleaning it. I am not entirely sure whether the information given about cleaning it is correct or not. Please dot the needful. Thanks!
