      DIY Helmet painting and lighting

      Hi All,

I had a spare helmet lying around at home. It was a temporary helmet which I used when mine got stolen.
Now that I have a new lid with me http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...tml#post986470 thought of doing something with the spare one lying around.

I wanted warning lights on my helmet as it makes it safe while riding at night (especially if your tail light blows out) I searched for many solutions online but they were very costly. So I thought of doing it myself..

The whole helmet would be stripped, sanded and painted..
This is how it will look from behind.. The design is still not final though. I am still making renderings of the design. Almost there

So I started to open my helmet. Took off the hood and the visor. That was just about it though .. It was stripped down to just the head padding and the straps.

        Thank you for the approval

So as told more to follow, here is how far i have made progress..

So I had started the sanding process.. The stickers were the most difficult part to sand off.. they were not going off easily.. Used a lot of force to sand them off.. then i thought that i should have tried to take off the stickers from the coating with a blade.. but it was too late

After making it as smooth as possible, i masked off all the holes in the hood.

After masking them off I started with the painting. Since I was painting it black I did not use any base coat color. So I started with black.

          Hi fellow riders

Today I stickered up my helmet. Got them cut at a local radium sticker shop. This is how it came out.
