You can use a free program called Faststone. Its an Image viewer program with lots of facilities.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostAnybody suggest a simpler software than Photoshop?? and a simpler way of watermarking?
Open the Image in Faststone, move cursor to the left edge of the screen, a menu opens- select "Draw board" from the menu, select the text icon from the resulting menu, make a text box anywhere on the screen and type in any thing you want. Once saved the text cannot be removed.sigpic

Thanks once again. Iam able to watermark now..!!Originally posted by varun_r15 View PostNo problem, if you carried out without considering them, them dont worry
and regarding the white area
use this logo for watermarking, it will remove all white area from the picture
Next help would be to direct me to a link where i can learn something about photography. All the basics of it. Things like ISO, Exposure, Exif etc. go over my head.
I just wish to take a few beautiful snaps at times.

even i prefer irfanview...........its nice little software.Originally posted by hitanshu View PostArre bhai log, itne mahan complex kaam karte ho. Here is a simpler solution set:
a. Use watermark factory. Dont use it but have seen people use it for putting embossed transparent watermarks.
b. My uber favorite Irfanview. It has a LOVELY batch processing feature that lets you do resize/sharpen/colors adjust and watermarking all in one shot. I will not bother with the rest - google.
For watermarking, all you need to do is:
- Check on "Use advanced options" next to Output format
- Click the advanced button.
- Check the Overlay text box.
- Click on its settings, set the location you want it (in terms of X/Y coords), message and font.
I would prefer to keep the "Text is transparent" box checked.
Do the batch conversion and voila your pics are all well done
PS: Ofc, first time, test on batchsize of 1!!

Another reminder of why one must watermark one's pictures:
Overdrive Magazine Plagiarizes my travelogue - Team-BHP
They even went to the extent of saying useless marketing spiel like:
And everyone who posted on their FB about this incident gets kicked off & deleted. Rather shameful behavior from a supposedly mature media house.I couldn't help but think about the Goodyear tyres on my car. I had put on the new tyres a few weeks before the trip. The grip they offered was excellent.
Shameful behavior - must be condoned & the message spread on FB/twitter etc & please ask your family/friends to avoid buying OD for a while. This is no way to operate - in stark contrast to our xbhp folks who actually brave it up to the himalayan passes & do their own rides & then write, not filch stuff.http://www.bikenomads.com/wiki/index.php/Leh - All you ever need to know about getting Leh'd.
