    Guidelines for Members
    Topics Covered
    1. What is the xBhp Police?
    2. What is the average turnaround time on approving threads?
    3. What should you do to ensure your thread is approved in the first go?
    4. What are the forums etiquettes that we expect you to follow?
    5. How to report bad post?
    6. How can you identify a Moderator?

    1) xBhp Police
xBhp Police are the upholders of law and etiquettes aiming to maintaining decorum on the xBhp forum, identify and rectify/remove trolls and other negative elements on the forum.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    • The core job of xBhp Police is to maintain decorum on the forum and to make sure all members abide by forum rules and regulations.
    • xBhp Police will also keep a track on the latest happenings on the forum and check for any behavioral issues by members.
    • xBhp Police will have all the rights to penalize by infracting/banning any member indulging in or encouraging negative activity on the forum.
    The Go About
    • If Moderators suspect any member not obeying the rules or is not adhering to the guidelines on the forum, the next step will be taken over by the xBhp Police by warning the member either publicly or by a Personal Message. Not abiding by the warning will get him banned temporarily or permanently depending on criticality of issue.
    • If multiple report posts are received against a member then the matter will be escalated to xBhp Police as well.

    2) Turnaround time on approving Threads
When a new thread is posted on the forum it will be automatically routed to the Moderators for approval before going public.
Threads are moderated two times a day in batches – once in the morning and once in evening.

    3) What should you do to ensure your thread is approved in the first go?

Here are some of the crucial guidelines to make sure the Moderators on the first go approve your thread.

    • Make sure you use the search feature before posting a new thread, it may be possible the issue you are facing has already been answered before on the forumhttp://www.xbhp.com/talkies/search.php . You can also search xBhp in the following ways:
    • The search window on the wibiya bar below each page.
xBhp.com : The Global Indian Biking Community - Search Forums
    • Be elaborate and be more expressive while conveying your question on the forum
    • Give examples if you are not sure how to put your point forward
    • Do not post in CAPS or in bold font as it is akin to shouting on the forum
    • Do not post in short form or sms language as it gets very difficult to comprehend and not acceptable on the forum.
    • Gather enough data and examples to ensure others understand and respond quickly
    • If you are uploading a photo, make sure you first upload it on to xBhp image hosting server and then copy and paste the link in the thread.
How to upload photos to xBhp?
Please see the link below on a quick tutorial on how to upload pictures on xBhp:

    • If you want to share any news or statistics, ensure you have the authentic source for the same and that you mention it at the end of your article
    • Do a quick research and understand the problem before posting it online
    • Do keep the data on-topic and post in the appropriate section as applicable
    • Contact the Moderators if you are un-sure of how to post and where to post the query (You can Private Message Noor or Sunil for the same)
    • Always post your thread in default font and not using fancy fonts and colors
    • Give your thread a title which is relevant to your query, do not post thread title only as ‘Help’, be more expressive.
    (Examples)
A good titled thread – Help Needed – Yamaha R15 Rear brake issue
A bad titled thread – help me honda giving problem!!
    • Do not engage in political discussions
    • You can openly post your queries here, but make sure that you are not posting any off-topic post in any thread, because such posts make it harder for others to participate in original discussion.

    4) Forum etiquettes.
All members should abide by the guidelines mentioned below.

    • Any posts that encourage illegal intent will be removed, member are requested not upload link directing to sites or images containing pornography or gross violence.
    • Multiple posting is not permitted on xBhp, members should edit their previous comments or use multiple quote options to reply to multiple post
    How to Multiple quote?
If you want to post replies to multiple posts you can select them by clicking the multi quote button . This button will change to indicate that you've selected it. Clicking post reply will then bring you to the full editor with all the posts quoted.
    • Posting in random threads just to increase post count is considered as spamming on the forum and will lead to a permanent ban on the forum and other xBhp activities
    • Any abuse towards xBhp team in any form will result in immediate banning of your account
    • Use personal message system for all off topic conversations
    • Don't post personal, racial, gender-based insults, slurs or offensive comments on the forum
    • Please refrain from any personal attacks or arguments if you think the discussion is going out of hand, inform the moderators immediately
    • Do not post any anti-national comments or use abusive language when referring to the country’s government.
    • As xBhp is read by people from all over the country, speaking many different languages, members are needed to post in a language that is understood by majority of the readers (English in this case). If you are posting in language other than English, make sure that you also translate the same post in English.

Few live examples from the forum, which will help you understand and refrain from posting in the same manner.

Eg 1 – Sms Language or Short Forms
Have remved it! nice tip bro!
yeah the sound is cool…..somewahat like a mild versn of the k&nsnd
is der really an issue of overheating??
and if der is it may mean that da bike is getting lean, and if so means that remvng it increases air flow to an extent?????????????
hey and what about water during da rains it could get into the airbox??
Eg 2 – Provocative post or post which may hurt others sentiments
Test driven cbr 250r yesterday and i wasn't much impressed personally.Because It felt too light. The brakes were pretty sharp. It felt more like riding a yamaha r-15 and its nowhere like a ninja, Ninja feels stable and rock steady,a feeling which i never get in yamaha r-15 and din't get in a CBR either. They r nimble bikes, easy to flick around in city traffic.CBR's pick up is better than ninja, but then i feel u don't need so much.Ninja's pick up is just right for our roads..And i definitely dont think a cbr comes anywer close to ninja in the looks department.CBR looks all fancy,Whereas a ninja looks mean .Basically if u like yr motorcycle light, sleek, flickableu'd like a cbr but if u like yr bike solid, stable and planted u'd love a ninja more.

Eg 3 – Using Fillers just to increase the length of the post
Totally agreeeee with you bro……………….. Well Done………….

    5) How to report bad post, xBhp Citizen Police.

If you suspect anything going wrong on the forum or if you feel any member is spreading negativity and that needs to be reported to the Moderators, all you need to do is click on (Report Post) button below the username and avatar of the user to report it to the Moderators, and the next step will be taken over by the Moderators.
The button will appear like this on the forum.

    6) Identifying a Moderator.

Every Moderator will have his username in Red and xBhp Police will be in bright blue.
Every Moderator will have the following details in the signature so that they can be identified and contacted in case of any emergency.
Name, Position held, Location and Contact details.

Eg - Noor Patni - Super Moderator- Mumbai – Noor [at] xBhp.com

I've one question. What would be the difference between Moderator & xBhp Police? From what I understand, xBhp Police ID seems to be a task that is subset to the moderator. So what's the difference on the work?

          IMO

Moderator: he can authenticate a thread, and close it, along with banning people for misconduct of the forum rules. And can do all what xBhp Police can
xBhp Police: cant authenticate, but other than that can delete post, ban users for misconduct and keep a look out on threads.

Xbhp Police has come back keeping in view the load on the moderator for the misconduct of forum rules by any user.

Though I think a moderator or xBhp Police would be able to give a better and more detailed explanation on this.

I suggest the xPolice, whoever that mod is, bans me for life. He is going about deleting posts for no reason and without the courtesy to inform why the posts are being deleted. I am increasingly getting a feeling now that member participation or member viewership is being taken for granted if this continues. I have never had any problems with any mods here till now but this policing act is just getting to me for it seems nothing but clear abuse of power.
Yes I am pissed. If you are gonna show me the rule book..which itself maybe flawed then I am out of here.

                Hi Shivanshu bro,
I checked it out. XPolice is a "Super Moderator". This type of moderator has moderation powers over all sections of Xbhp, and ban powers too.
The ordinary moderator has limited powers I think, like moderation/ approval for a particular section only, or handing out infractions only and not ban.

@ Tenhut: Bro, maybe you can PM Mr. xPolice and find out the reason.

Although, I don't think that any mod was unfair to me, but yes, I believe that, a reason should be given for deletion of post or unapproval of topic.

there have been quite a few posts that been deleted AND removed.

i'm still waiting for a response to one of my posts that was deleted AND removed.

i've been following xBHP since it's inception...

from the days of the silver Pulsar 180 with two exhausts.

from when the only thing that could silence a Pulsar vs ZMA spat was the word RD350.

earlier... when posts were deleted... members were warned/informed...
it would good if it was kept that way.

                  it's a lil too rat-a-tat now.

"Technically" the xBhp police has all the powers that a super moderator has on xBhp, e.g., approving/closing threads, deleting posts, banning members, etc. However, the task ahead of the xBhp police is to maintain the law & order, i.e., performing the tasks that may attract negative feedback from the member/members. It has been observed by our moderators that if they ban somebody or remove their posts they are accused of being partial with somebody or misusing their powers even if their action was based on some valid reasons. And mostly, these kind of hostile reactions came from the 'senior' members.

and remembe, moderators are just volunteers here, nobody wants animosity from anyone for a thankless job.

So this dirty task of taking action was given to xBhp police.

The police has barely acted upon its own, most of the time the action is taken only after a bad post is reported.

i'd have disagree with you here bud...
i've seen a few posts that were deleted for less than offensive reasons too.

for Mr. xPoliceman... being anonymous, allowed him to misuse his "power"... in a few scenarios.

it's safe to assume that the xPolizia is a duplicate ID of an existing mod.
and it's actually really easy to find out who that is isn't it.

keep guessing. Can't it be used by multiple mods/volunteers who want to remain anonymous? It could well be someone who you met during the last G2G
