Hero is racing fast over Bajaj and the gap is now very huge, Bajaj can't even imagine taking on Hero anymore (from monthly sales gap of mere 30,000 in mid 2006 to almost 3,00,000 now).
HMSI was not even half of Bajaj couple of years back, but in next few months Bajaj's domestic numbers may be competed by HMSI if HMSI's second factory goes on in full steam.
The fact is HMSI will mow down Bajaj within 1-1.5 years from now in domestic numbers. I would suggest Bajaj to compete silently rather than making kiddish pot-shots on competitors. Bajaj needs strategies to beat competition and not statements like 'In India Honda is percieved as scooter maker' etc etc. Does bajaj has an answer for CBR ?

Yes in few months. But did HMSI have an answer for P220 until now?Originally posted by vipin_s View PostDoes bajaj has an answer for CBR ?
I'm not siding with BAL, but the point is, BAL WILL be there. In this country, ads are strong way of speaking about the product irrespective of the quality.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle
Awareness + Skill is what keeps you out of harm's way
ATGATT + Awareness + Skill means you might Live To Ride another day

For Bajaj surviving and thriving in India is very important. Unlike Honda which has the world eating out of it hands, India is the base for Bajaj. Therefore Bajaj will leave no stone unturned here in India to survive/thrive.

i would like to add just one more thing, that advertisements and marketing strategies does have a serious impact on ultimate sales figures worldwide, not only in india.

Are you sure about the bold part?? mow down with bikes like Shine & Stunner to compete with the likes of P135LS? Was Honda sleeping till now, did it have an answer to P180/200/220? Wait another couple of months to see KTM 200 and upgraded Pulsars in flesh.. let the real game begin.. then we will see if Honda has an answer.Originally posted by vipin_s View PostHero is racing fast over Bajaj and the gap is now very huge, Bajaj can't even imagine taking on Hero anymore (from monthly sales gap of mere 30,000 in mid 2006 to almost 3,00,000 now).

Well Hero is selling more 100cc bikes than ever.. what about bikes of 125+ category? is there any change in the buying pattern in that category? answer is big No and Bajaj is finding more takers than ever in above 125+ category. They have even made an impact in 100cc with Discover. Unlike Hero, Bajaj is trying to become a global player.. their target is to export more than 50% of the production. Where does Hero stand in this regard?Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/

Well said! HMSI will not have any answer to P220 for sure! Honda launched CBR250R with cost cutting by bringing single cylinder CBR250R which would have similar firing note as any other Single Cylinder machine and added ABS to it. (Please dont take me in wrong way CBR owners these are entirely my viewsOriginally posted by aargee View PostYes in few months. But did HMSI have an answer for P220 until now?

Let Bajaj add FI and ABS to P220 it would be even hard to beat for Honda. With the speculations of KTM coming to Market, I see Bajaj having strong hold in the market than Honda.
Cheers!

advertisement sells product here in India..... better and aggressive the ad and better chances of acceptance among the consumers..... though the product has to be good and competitive, which BAL is taking care of..... after the price cut of 220 & the aggressive ads, the sale of 220 jumped up..... more 220's are on the street.....
lets the new breed of Beasts roll..... the sales figure will tell the tale.....

ROFLOriginally posted by NewsReaper View PostRajiv Bajaj, managing director of Bajaj Auto, was reported saying in April that "there is a growing perception that Honda can make scooters only. AFAIK the Japanese wont retaliate to these ads, they will keep working silently and let their products do the talking.

HMSI was a big let down man after bringing the unicorn they went in to coma. CBR alone won't make honda the king here, hero motor's i doubt will be able to bring out something appealing in this market now on it's own.yamaha will giv bajaj tougher fight than honda i think... Bajaj bring's bikes at price point that are bought the masses afta all this is india...in no's bajaj will be ahead b'cos of the pricing...how many ppl in overall india do you think can afford cbr? all this keeping in mind that yamaha/ honda makes better bikes than bajaj...
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Honda can't make bikes that's the most hilarious jokes i have ever read. Probably Bajaj thinks unicorn and CBR etc are scooters ha ha ha. And whose winning moto gp there. Leave Bajaj even Kawasaki doesn't stand a chance there.Last edited by anush; 06-15-2011, 02:41 PM.First think you are special then work towards proving it.

they made us wait sooooo long for another bike and dats was too an unicorn clone of sorts the dazzler :P honda had nothing to compete in terms of performance with the pulsar's and now the cbr..but they need to do more than jst sit around and sell the cbr for nxt 3-4 yrs. they need something which is direct competition to the 220 and 180's etc ...Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.
