    • If Bajaj is so good at 125cc segment. Why did it launch and discontinue few products in that segment(where is XCD which was supposed to compete with splendor)?

        • So every bike with DTSSI on it is a reincarnation of XCD. Is it true that most Bajaj bikes have rusty exhaust after a few years? And they fall of while riding?

Bajaj discontinues more models that any other company.

Am reposting this (deleting the orginal one):

No business entity in this world is perfect. There will be its own shares of success and failures. There would not be any chance for others to try to survive is any single company is so perfect that there won't be opportunity for anyone else.

Honda / Bajaj / Hero / TVS / Ducati/ Harley Davidson etc. are all companies run by Human beings.. and has their own share of success and failures. Despite the imperfections, there are some success stories which makes these companies stand out
                1. Honda Activa remains the undisputed king among automatic scooters in India (not so in motorcycles, at least till now)
                2. Hero Honda Splendor still remains the world's largest selling model (CBZ Xtreme/Hunk hasn't replicated similar success)
                3. Bajaj Pulsar still outsells any other bike in its category even after 10 years (not so in scooters or 100 cc motorcycles)
                4. TVS is the undisputed king among mopeds (they are not leader in any other category, at least till now)

Had any company been 100% perfect; it would had sold the maximum number of 100 cc motorcyles, 150 (+) cc motorcycles, scooters and mopeds at the same time and become the only single company to survive in India.

                Chill..

WITH the same chasis of old (round headlight pulsar) but of different engine wont make any sense....think dude
if an old 150 topspeed is 115....then they made a suitable chasis so you cant use the same chasis for an 220cc engine which can easily go past 130s.......so it cant handel in corners for sure and yes the wheelbase of 220 is sick..........
and dont compare with honda RIDE UNICORN AND PULSAR u KNOW wat will be the difference...........

agreed with u, i suffered this discontinuing policy of bajaj after purchasing saffire scooter, worst mistake of my life i ever made, just aftr 6 mths from purchase bajaj doesn't even have any of its spare part.and it takes 3 - 4 mnths to get the spare.

                      • Bajaj has created many enemies within Bajaj loyal customers, there are many people suffering low esteem as well as low market value for their bikes. All these people will somehow sell and move towards Honda/ Yamaha/ Suzuki due to detachment of loyalty. Sad but true.

I remember reading on some thread, if a manufacturer discontinues any model then that manufacturer has to make sure spares are available for next seven years..... it was maybe on two-stoke thread..... if that is so, u can anytime sue Bajaj if parts are not available.....

In a different thread, you have even said that you used to own a Pulsar 150.. which eventually gave you a lot of trouble (of course). [Check it out here]

Do I happen to know you, from a Different Online Forum maybe..

"Low esteem", that’s an over statement. Various brand analysis finding indicate that Pulsar is the strongest brand in Indian Bike world and youth love to associate themselves with it.
Bajaj made mistakes by discontinuing some product, but nothing in this consumer world go unnoticed. Look in this forum we are all discussing that and even outside this forum ppl know it (as you said they will move to other brands). It means Bajaj's brand image got the required dent. And for sure Bajaj has learnt the lesson hence now they are mostly working only on two product line Pulsar and Discover. Also they are working on refinement of the products, Pulsar 135 is an example and the upcoming Pulsar lineup will enhance it.
And today’s truth is that Bajaj is selling highest in premium bike market…That means ppl after considering all these factors in their buying decision, still went for Bajaj…
P.S.: All my comments are for common India customer and may not hold true for Moto GP enthusiasts (which are in minuscule nos) or any other specific group so please don't color this forum with this post. As this topic is for common Indian Biker and not for any specific group....

Unfortunately for you, that will never happen. As someone quoted earlier, "Pulsar" has become a brand in itself.

If what you say had any fragment of truth, Bajaj or for that matter, the very "Pulsar" brand might not have survived this much.

Can the moderators please close this thread? It is getting filled with nonsensical posts and unwanted mudslinging.
