  • Automatic Double-post prevention - New feature added on the xBhp forum

    Hi guys,

We have enabled a new feature on the forum in which if a user makes two or more consecutive posts on a thread within 60 minutes, all his posts will be merged into the first post automatically.

For example, if a user makes a post on any thread and he comes back to make another post on the same thread within 60 minutes and nobody else has posted below his post, then all his posts will be merged automatically.

We'll have the following message between the posts merged.

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

feel free to test this feature on this thread and let us know if you are facing any issues/problems.

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

    *testing*

it will save a lot of time and headache.

thanks. thats a useful feature. dont know if this is the correct place to post this but the forum is:
            - dead slow even on a kickass connection
            - the messaging / pm feature of the forum is pretty inadequate
            - the session time-out interval for the forum is way too less
just my 2pennies of honest feedback...
            no offense meant! :-)

              And none taken.

That's surprising, it used to work quite fast, even when I had a bloodless connection.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

"remember me" basically drops a cookie on ur box & any IT geek [like me] shies away from that the way bikes do from oil spills!

nevertheless, that is certainly *not* the reason for the forum loading slow & it *is* slow, believe me ;-) [i am on a 8mbps link here & this thing is taking even longer than what my avenger takes to go from 0 to 50 ;-)]

also, will help, if u guys tweak the session timeout value [usually in vbulletin control panel or whatever app u using for this forum] :-)
