• ANNOUNCEMENT: Offline G2G/meets section now visible to 'logged-in' members only

    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to let you know that with immediate effect, the offline G2G/meet section will be visible to only those members who are logged-in to xBhp. It won't be visible to guests/members who are not logged into xBhp.

The rest of the forums/section will continue to behave normally.

Do let us know if you have any suggestions/feedback for the same.

But you forgot the fact that every tom, dick and harry can be an xbhpian .

I think it's a good move. A closed group is always better to avoid confusions and to maintain the privacy of each group. But like I mentioned earlier, it wont be of much use since anyone can join xbhp so easily. I mean, this move definitely wont make the content inaccessible for someone who REALLY wants to access it.

Great move  just a few weeks back I had expressed a need for the exact change, and presto

Have not seen much of this...do some people turn up to G2Gs uninvited?
I have attended only a few G2Gs recently though...

I think one of the best things about xbhp is the offline meets, its what draws people to xbhp. If we hide it, people may not come to know such rides are organised and will not be registering themselves with the site.

As for non registered members joining the ride, the registered members can always keep them out. Also, this is no teambhp, any tom dick and harry can join this forum, I find no point to this move.

Hi yellowspunk, the basic idea behind this move is not to stop people from joining xBhp or xBhp meets as you yourself pointed out that this is the first thing that attracts a lot of people to xBhp. However, we would love people to get familiarized with xBhp and the people running it (the members) before landing directly in the offline G2Gs. There is still nothing that stops them from joining the meet physically. However, there are people who land up on meets hoping to see superbikes and/or stunts courtesy a google search, and sometimes these people turn out to be a pain for the organizers as they refuse to follow the rules of the G2Gs.

This additional step before a member can see the details of the G2Gs being organized will definitely help in preventing some non-serious bunch of guys from attending the meets.

Thats the main point. All the information will still be accessible to those who REALLY want to access it and those who want to put some effort into it. It is a well known fact that people don't care for the things they get for free. Let people make some effort!

Also one important thing is that a lot of people regularly attend the meet but they never try to give back to the communityr, i.e., share their experience at the G2G or share their photos, etc. Now since they are already registered, they are more likely to share it, which will benefit the community.

Absolutely right, I personally experienced that people expect super bikes/stunt show and VIP treatment on G2G's and refuse to follow the basic traffic rules.

Hehe I thought this decision was taken due to some safety concerns. If the intention is to increase the contribution, this might help. But my doubt is that, if guest visitors don't get to know what this G2G is all about, why would they join xbhp in the first place.
