For all those who cant afford Alpinestars riding gear which is priced almost 3X or 4X the price of these DSG/Cramster gear, these guys are doing a great job by bringing protective gear to the reach of the common-man biker..

            All Weather Jackets

Hey Guys. Stuff from DSG look cool, but I prefer functionality any day over looks. How are the jackets in rough weather like heavy rains and dust. I'm currently using a normal jacket while riding and doesn't help either in rains nor in aerodynamics (jacket causes chaos at high speeds..)

Even in normal B'lore traffic I get smoke stains all over my jacket. Ya thats how polluted B'lore's become

Can any owners comment on its functionality...
            Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...
But its how fast you get up, that matters.....

              pretty late addition. excuse that.

Just for the record, BITTU BIKE WALA is not just a dealer for DSG but also a money minting burgler. The jacket is priced Rs4500(inc. all tax) but instead they will again apply VAT on that. There price is never fair. I had an experience of this when i bought a DSG Dragon Helmet from there at Rs.6500(actual price Rs5500). I had even sent a mail to DSG headoffice complaining about it But who cares....

P.S : I was a fool befooled, you be wise.

we had taken your email and feedback into consideration and verified it to be true. Consequently, Bittoo Bikewallah's dealership for our products had been canceled many months ago. The products available with them are leftover stocks from our previous consignments and no new supplies are being provided to their store.

                  Hi,

I am on the look out for a new Jacket. Are there any new models coming into the market? I need one that has all the basic guards and can be used in Dry and Wet conditions.

From the current lineup, DSg Spike looks good. Are there any upgrades of this model in the pipeline? Are Yellow and Red the only options?

                  Thanks,

Spike has been upgraded and replaced by Phoenix for 2010. Phoenix has upgraded fabric and is waterproof. We will list it online at www.planetdsg.com shortly.

Visors for Daijya helmets are currently not available in Delhi. We will speak with our Gurgaon dealer and suggest him to keep stock for the current owners.

You have a store in Gurgaon ?
If it stocks motorcycle gear then do provide its address.

                                here's my story

It literally required 2 full days and a total of 20 calls to pune(half of which were not picked) to just get a tracking no. This morning, the guy who handles tracking no.s (I think Vijay) was out of the place for 4 hours straight and every time i called up.. i was told to call after 30min/1hr. Finally i begged the person who answered my 5th call (Asif) to please note my tracking no. when the Tracking no. guy is around so that i can at least put a trace on my stuff. Finally 1hr after my 5th call, i was finally able to get a tracking no. which again.. was not trackable. On Inquiring with courier guys, i came to know that the parcel has left pune city only on 17th (and not on 13/14/15/16 may I ask why?)

People would think why i am getting so worried about the gear.. it will come. Actually, I would'nt have been so paranoid, had i not been in the export industry myself. And it never takes me more than 6 days to deliver a parcel to USA (4 Days for UK) from the order date. And i use our very own "India Post EMS Speed Post" for reliably delivering all my orders all over the world.

The other reason for me getting paranoid is when i had ordered, there were still 7 days remaining for my outstation travel(and i wasnt even thinking that the delivery could get delayed by these proportions.) And now i have to catch a train in the evening tomorrow. After i leave my place tomorrow, there will be nobody here to receive the parcel and it will be sent back to sender.

I dont need a refund from you guys. That was not the reason i bought from you guys. I needed the jacket + Gloves before i left town.

After all this episode, PlanetDSG.com people, the one thing i deserve most right now, is an explanation to why the above things happened. Especially when i had confirmed beforehand that you people had all the stuff "In Stock" at the time of my order. If there is no satisfactory explanation to everything, i would really recommend XBHPians to avoid buying from PlanetDSG.com and buy the same stuff from outdoortravelgear.com which basically has much better customer support (24x7 phone support) + fast delivery times (My Cramster Turtle Tankbag was delivered in < 24 hours), though its retail outlet may not be in a posh location like you guys, they more than make it up for it by giving far better online sales support for guys like me(who dont stay in Pune/Mumbai/other metros).

P.S.: For your reference, my Order No. on PlanetDSG.com is 1043.

i too had the same experience. read my story

Vijay is a nice guy and I have personally dealt with him a few times and he is very sincere about his products and service. I will speak to him on what happened with you and update on this thread.
as far as iam concerned I had ordered from DSG on a couple of occasions and on both occasion my parcel got delayed. the first parcel was sent 7 -10 days after i got the payment confirmation mail from DSG.i wonder, why they took 7 days to send the parcel when they claimed that the jacket was in stock. all in all it took 15 days in total to receive my parcel.

on the 2nd occassion, i ordered for a pair of knee guards as i was planning to go for a tour and i ordered 1 month in advance.still the parcel didnt reach me on time.i deposited the money on 28th of oct 2008.after repeated emails i got the confirmation on 12th of nov that the parcel has been sent and a few days later got a call from DSG that the parcel has returned coz of a strike. i asked Vijay if he can sent it by speed post , he said he can and will do it the same day. well after numerous calls and emails i was informed that it has been sent through speed post. when i asked about the consignment number they 1st said they will email me soon .the email never came. when i called Vijay up after a week he told me that they lost the bill but confirmed that they had sent it by speed post.i waited for another 2 weeks and again after the repeated calls and emails they promised to send me a new pair. finally it arrived on 22nd december 2008 through first flight courier ( the pair sent through speed post never landed at my door, which isnt hard to imagine why), almost 1 month after my trip for which i had ordered. and almost 2 months after the payment was made. along with the parcel Vijay sent an envelope with "sorry for the delay " written on it. he added an alpinestar key chain and 2 alpinestar stickers ,for which iam thankful to him .however from 28th Oct to 22nd Dec that was a long ordeal which made me take a pledge not to deal online with DSG ever again .Unless i found some good reviews about their online customer support.before the server crashed i found a lot of guys complaining about the delay in receiving parcel from DSG.

for the record during this same period 28th of Oct to 22nd of Dec i ended up doing 4 separate purchases from Cramster which included a "KNEE GUARD" as well.all the parcels arrived within 4 days of confirmation of payment.and i used the cramster knee guard for the tour

i agree DSG products are VFM products and I appreciate their effort in bringing these gears at affordable rates, and i totally agree that Mr Vijay comes across as a nice soft and well spoken person but the sad thing is that it doesnt translate into better online experience for the customers.

its high time ,DSG need to pull up their socks and provide better online customer care and delivery facilities. as a customer why should I take all the pain to deal with DSG if i can get the same quality of products if not better from other online shops with assured hassle free deliveries?

i never wanted to write about it but when i see other member are also suffering i decided to write about it so that the people concerned may take notice and do the needful to rectify the things.iam sure a lot of other guys might have faced the same thing but when we decide to keep mum doesnt mean that there is no problem at all.
