I use 1 finger for any speed, 2 during rainy weather. Anything more, there is a chance of front end washout on my bike - P150.
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

No offence brother , but i dint get the purpose of such a thread ?
if 40% people would answer 2 and 40% answers 3 fingers and 10% says 1 and the remaining 10% say 4 fingers !!
how would it make a difference to you ?

P.S : Just go with your intinct and use the fingers accordingly...

and BTW FYI i use middle finger. breaking
I've been using two fingers from the beginning and all my friends use 3, one of them uses 1, so i started noticing people on the streets as how many do they use...
from some days I've been keeping an eye on almost every rider...
i don't know why but that bug was biting me..
i recently saw a documentary in which Colin Edwards said he uses 1, so i was quite eager to know what xBHPians would answer, hence i started the thread...
i agree it serves no purpose, but its just a basic study for information purposes...

1 generally, but 2 when I know that I'll have to stop really hard. Voted for 1 since that's the most I use. Always have the practise of having your finger(s) on the brake lever while riding

                      Single Index Finger :P
I think that gives you ample of grip which is needed in the traffic and also at the same time much force.
I am already afraid of that big Petal Disc lol.

2-3 fingersdepending on type of brake...

Actually it depends on the type of brake - drum/disc and also the bikers comfort level...On my dio i use 3 fingers to brake....for like safe 70-to-0 km/hr braking....back when i use to ride my pulsar 150, since it had disc brakes 2 fingers sufficed....Another factor that might come into play here is how one brakes...on geared bikes, good braking is a combination of gear control and using both brakes ....

I used to use 2 fingers for braking. Middle and the ring finger.

Then I had a accident some months back and couldnt use my ring finger for braking as the wound was fresh and I ended up getting used to using only one finger(middle finger).
