Only 1 Finger normally, THE MIDDLE ONE.

Occasionally 2/3 Fingers depending upon the situation.

                    Earlier, I used all 4!
From the past one year or so, I started using 2 fingers (Index and Middle fingers; Thumb, Ring and Little fingers used for blipping the throttle while downshifting).
I tried the 1 finger(Index) too after inspired by Eddie Lawson's video! I'm comfortable at normal speeds. Don't know how will it be if it's an emergency!

Be it emergency braking or casual braking - I use two fingers.
Also casual braking is mostly done by pumping the brakes, rarely at emergency braking also..
Most of my riding is done on the Highway so i prefer engine braking. It ensures to give better results than coated pads...

Also wet braking is mostly done with one finger, i dont wish to slip when applying brakes.....
Rear brake is hardly used....only when iam stationary on the signal or before entering a turn, ensuring i get the angle of the bike in the required direction.

Tip- Try pumping your brakes...helps a lot and avoids sudden stops or skidding, even in gravel or wet..
The right hand action can be equated with fanning of clutch of the left hand....but in slow speeds of the hand..

                            always two.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

I use two fingers (index and middle) for bikes with disc brakes
and all four fingers for bikes with drum brakes.
In situations when I need to immediately twist the throttle after braking, I brake with three fingers (middle, ring and little fingers) while my index finger and thumb are still on the throttle.

Usually the index finger, in case of emergency braking, I use the 'middle" finger to load it up.

Always worked for me! Different people different styles!
