Re: Why do we change to aftermarket exhausts?

Guys, a free flow exhaust does make a big difference in power as it allows the engine to rev faster but it also reduces the performance of your bike over time as it fails to produce back pressure to prevent heat/fire from the engine to burn your exhaust valve(s). More valves, more compression you will loose if they leak and im telling you bikes like the NS have very poor quality valves. If you replace your valves to better quality ones then it would make sence changing the exhaust.
I dont know about the R15 but the FZ comes with very good quality valves as it throws fire every time you close the throttle due to the centrifugal decompression valve. And yamaha bikes are also meant to run with free flow exhauats as the company provides it. Better than using a free flow or a K&N intake which lets dirt into your engine try jetting it first if carburatted or mapping if FI. Our indian bikes are starved for good fuel efficiency specially pulsars. Jetting would increase power like hell.
