I took the liberty of adding the last 2 options to the poll without whom the poll looked incomplete. Though I firmly believe it is more about the rider than the bike, but still, I have to agree that the bike also plays an important part.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

        Voted for Bullet. Why?

Amongst the bikes listed in poll, the ones I have ridden:
        Have done 1,000+km's in a day on Electra 350 4s, RTR160, Karizma.
Have done 900+km's in a day on 200NS.
        Have done ~800km's in a day on 220 & R15.

For me the best one is the one that left me least tired at the end of ride and amongst all the above mentioned rides, the least tired I was at the end of the one did on Bullet.
        2000 Suzuki Fiero | 2004 Bullet Electra | 2004 RX135 | 2005 CBZ | 2009 Karizma | 2009 Punto 1.4 Petrol | 2011 Yamaha YZF-R15

            I too voted for Bullet..(although owning a 200NS)

I wuld have voted for Fazer -if it had a 200+ cc LC engine and a rear disc brake.

i believe this is not a bike/person specific question..
              one should not think that
this specific bike has the ability to travel more distance in a day or
can go faster than any other bikes or
one is comfortable with riding a particular bike or
comparing self experiences on different bikes..

its all about "ergonomics"... sitting posture, height & weight ratio, stability, etc...

i've no experience riding a bullet but maybe it has a good touring experience. Since i've no idea about it i voted for the bike i own. Zmr. I see its leading in the polls. I've ridden 450+kms in a day and the bike pleased me in every aspect. Riding posture is awesome. And mileag i got was a stunning 45+. Because of its buttersmooth engine, cruising and 90+ was simply a treat! I personally classified it as one of the best sports tourer

I dont have any real touring experience on any of these bikes except for Avenger, but still I voted for the CBR250R.
IMO, the important points to consider while touring long distances are comfort, safety, ability to maintain higher average speeds over long durations and control.

I guess CBR250 R has all these in right quantities Comfort in terms of a riding posture that is not too forward leaning like the R15 nor upright, Fairing enables wind blast protection and decent power to stay cruising at higher speeds (in indian context) and safety in terms of ABS. I presume it would be closely followed by the Karizma.
                  Its not always about speed.

Voted for the 220 as that's the bike that I've ridden the longest in a day -- 1000+ kms, Bombay to Bangalore

... but I think the CBR would also be quite apt for the ride

                      Voted for Karizme.
ZMA still is the best tourer within 1 lac budget.
ZMR aint that VFM,so wont consider it.Royal Enfiedls, though are great, but they still arnt as maintainance free as ZMAs.

Dude I will still vote for ZMA as a perfect tourer.
Reason-"VFM". P.S. I hate the looks of ZMA,but its not about looks.
Ok CBR is much more capable. But you wont find many ASS in the interiors if India, where they service FI bikes.Same goes for my Favorite of all time,RE 500 classic. Though I support them, but I would vote for the more practical middle class tourer,ZMA(but with Tubeless tires).

                            Cbr 250

I think the cbr 250 must be good for highway duties considering LONG DISTANCE means mostly in boring 4 lane highways and it requires some amount of power.
Having riden Karizma for 700+km in single day in those highways i was always left wanting for power especialy when the roads were with little or no traffic.
Fazer with some bigger heart will be an boon for both highway and hill.
