I somehow didn't understand some of your replies. Seems like you refuted me just for the sake of refuting...

Anyway, i'll answer to some of your logical replies...

Yes, i too do the same now; try to find the middle way out of things. Reconciliatory approach, you see

I totally agree with this. But sometimes... my pent up frustration just comes out and i start cribbing like a kid...

I'm seriously thinking of doing that. Just that i don't know how does it all work out and how much does it cost and who pays for all the litigation stuff. Also i don't know if filing for a PIL will fix everything, but don't mind giving it a try.

Sometimes, I am so filled with rage that I want to take a sword and kill every fu**ing rulebreaking B@$tard on the road!!

The fool who caused my accident, was riding at night and passing through an intersection with no street lights.
He couldn't switch on his headlights,
He couldn't blow the horn once,
      He couldn't ride slow,

And I couldn't see him, as nobody gave me night vision goggles...

He just stopped right in front of me. And I crashed at 30~ kmph and was catapulted on the hard (believe me, really hard!) road...
Helmet saved my head, but what about arm? My right arm was bent like letter "Z".

The fool was on a silver colored bike, but that's all I remember... He lifted my bike as my foot was stuck under it.
But on fear of the crowd, he dropped it back, further causing breakage of ankle's soft tissues. And he ran away leaving me lying on the tarmac...

I had to lift my right hand using my left. An ambulance was called. 1 operation and 4 days hospitalization... And life was never the same again...

I left Basketball, left Biking and left believing that one can be completely idiot proof. Guys, try your best being idiot proof, specially at night...

      God bless all.
Really Sorry to hear about it mate,
please get well soon, and start riding again.
      Good Luck.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

You almost reminded me of the pain, that day...

Anyways, don't worry at all buddy. I was back to riding just 2 months after the accident, starting with my friend's Karizma back in 2010. Was shaky back then, but managed.
Then my Pulsar got repaired. I rode her too for another 7-8000 kms.

And now... its the Duke 390 I ride. 3900 kms complete. And life is going well... Now, I play basketball primarily with left hand due to being habitual after the accident, but I never left playing. And life is going good.

Very happy to see this thread.
Today there are many many idiots on the road.
They just get their license without any basic road sense by paying some money or someother way.

One should not be given a license without any basic road sense and logic.
I feel like punching them when i see someone suddenly crosses the road ,suddenly braking and taking a tun without an indicator, suddenly taking of a parked vehile.stopping and making calls in the high speed lane just near the median etc.....list is too big...

                      Reckless Riding

                      To All Riders,

Just my observation on the road. I commute nearly 50km everyday in city traffic and not a single day has passed without seeing KTM's or P220 rash driving. They not only zoom past dangerously close at high speeds they cut in so close to. I have personally witnessed old men shaking/about to hit a moving car coz of this recklesness.

Well its got nothing to do with the machine and there are riders who knows their limt too. But worried about riders puting them and others at risk.

Can anything be done to stop this?

I think this YouTube video by an experienced rider has the solution:

If the "passion"" and "what we make of" parts are the solution, then i dont think it justifies rough riding.

Didn’t sound like the guy who did the video was implying what you’d made of it. It sounded more like a call for understanding the risks involved in rash riding. You might want to check out his channel and see what he’s experienced as a rider to better imbibe the deeper meaning of his video.

Anyhow, I've always felt that all of the 'immortal' feelings that makes the some riders (especially when the youth within is on tap) drive rashly stems from two sole issues: firstly, there still is no serious effort in our society towards teaching responsible riding and strict rules to curtail such irresponsible behaviour. Secondly (and sadly) it usually takes just one serious accident to rattle them and bring these kind of riders down to earth; after which the hard lesson is learnt and they use better prudence.

Though I only wish they wouldn't have to learn only through such negative incidents, but then as Wanderer says in his video, motorcycles are dangerous if you're going to be stupid/overconfident about your risks.

I agree with you ln the two pointers, in addition, i feel the necessity to promote local tracks and track events. I guess that would encourage riders to hit the track for racing and leave the road for regular traffic.
