Also try to get a lot more understanding about engines/bikes. You have a good level of enthu.
People are more used to the power/weight ratio than specific power o/p.

@oldfox - I asked which was the first BIKE in india with an ES. Ki-HO was a scooter. But you got a lot of them correct. Good!
That's why I put the 'guess' phrase in brackets

A great bike and as you say, way ahead of its time. 15+ bhp 2-stroke, long wheelbase >1.5mtrs, 'shear-mounted' engine (mounted on springs and rubber dampeners to eliminate vibrations), 5-speed box with genuine over-drive ratios, 'day-flash' switch for the head-lamp, front disc, alloy wheels etc etc... And all this in the late 80's. Was WOW! then.

    Kawasaki Eliminator

    It came in 2001

My Explaination for my answer - Here question is disc as standard fittment. CBZ was also available with drum break. so as standard fittment it was firstly available in eliminator only.

    Kinetic Hysong Comet

Not Indian Make ... It was assembled here..

My Explaination for my answer - here it has been asked for "sold in India" not "manufactured in India" so Hysong comet is right answer.

Ravi: I am not sure if the Fury came with drums as I havent seen any pics with drum. Also I am not sure if it intially came with discs & later with drums or a vice-a-versa.

Btw I think the first 'bike' with alloys would be Hero Puch Turbo. The Fury & others had diferent arrangements than spoke rims but not allow.
    I may be wrong though

@ yes please do format your posts for quotes

I have seen one Zundapp with drum breaks. so here it was as standard fittment disc so the correct answer is eliminator as it was not available in drum breakes. correct me if I am wrong Technocrat.

Btw did the BMW F650 sport a rear disc brake? If yes then that would be the first bike to sport a rear disc

Joel: damn man now even I want to know which bike was this [/I remember BMW F650 was not having rear disc.]

Its has a max power dilvery at 8,500 RPM : It is of a very sluggish nature, and has lazy initial..in respect to its cubic centimeter specification
In India it is a master piece..But,all over the world Not..

JOEL is it..??? norton manx 500.. i can just take a guess..
cos i was not even born whn these were in india on roads...
These kinda bikes BSA / Norton / RD all were CKD imported, that is Completely Knocked Down Import, that is just the air pressure fuel and battery are fitted and the bikes are up and running...
Also they could develop this much power because their engine was hard chrome plated ..
