Regarding fuel, I always plan the services of my bike well in advance, & fuel up accordingly. I ensure that the bike has no more than reserve level of fuel. Also, the chances of fuel pilferage are lower in FI bikes over carb ones.

Regarding cloth, key chain, tool kit & other items, I always ensure I carry them back with me after giving the bike for service. The SVC guys are usually very careless, & will misplace/steal anything left behind. & you can't hold them responsible for this.

I have adopted the above practices after facing similar issues faced by you, and learning from my mistakes.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

the normal centimeter scale which we use for drawing straight lines. the supervisor dip it in fuel tank and mark the level. Its always approximate.

@Tibby - +1 Way to go!!! No point fighting & loosing our day, better prevent than curing. Hopefully someday things will change besides there're bigger issues than this.

@Anmol - Yes I do remember that method. Tks & appreciate to have shared the knowledge.

Exactly. During my college days, I used to end up arguing with these chaps whenever I gave/ took my Dio during servicing. Had enough of it, & then decided on these pointers.

I always keep my tools, cleaning cloth in my home before I leave my rides' in SVC. Only carry the vehicle records & service book in my pocket & also keep min. fuel.

Also useful to stay at service center and oversee the work, if you have the time....or have someone else watch ovr it. That way, no golmaal.

As far as I am concern, stealing petrol seems to be standard practice. Be it SVC or Garages. Most times I try to give for servicing/repair when it hits reserve. Sometimes not as I don't always have time to visit SVC/Garage.

I always keep the bike in reserve. But even the reserve pulsar gulps 2l of petrol. Either I drive 50Km in reserve or I take 2l pepsi bottle and remove all petrol from tank then fill .75l and give it to the service. While picking up the bike mostly bike will just manage to run to the nearest fuel station. I will pick the remaining petrol can in the bag drive 200 meters and put the remaining fuel in.
