Thanks man! I really thought you would be pissed off with me after that horrible post! About the rivalry part, let's see! [quote:Originally posted by rash_rp
Max, I'm not pissed off with u dude. U'll always remain my rival as far as the bikes go
, but nothing on personel level dude.
And I have no idea about the bullets, if the question was asked to me. So, Sorry, can't help.

acceleration of 500 was much much better than 350 (both bikes were not in very good condition). Didn't tried to go for top speed check .. u c front drum scared mequote:Originally posted by madmax
Nav, what really was the difference in the experience though? Is it the acceleration? The exhaust note? The vibrations? The higher top end? Tell me!
Thrill of riding those bikes coudn't gave me time to feel the vibrations ... but vibrations were there. Exhaust note was just like the bullet trademark

As far as I know, the acceleration of the AVL 350 engine is much better than the old 500. Wonder what's in store with the upcoming AVL 500!!! [
] And wonder at what rate it will be gulping down the precious stuff! [B)] Please please please Mr. Siddharth Lal, a top speed of 130+ is not asking for too much is it? I promise I won't try to drag her! And give us a proper street-bike instead of a pseudo-cruiser like the TBird!

yes max avl350 has a good accel ... but as I said I rode std 350.
Talking of a streetbike .. wait for the 6xxcc monstor to be launched soon by enfield ... rumours are that it will not be like a cruiser but more of a street bike .. Even if the bike takes another yr to come ... I doubt if many people can stay away from that bike.2000 Suzuki Fiero | 2004 Bullet Electra | 2004 RX135 | 2005 CBZ | 2009 Karizma | 2009 Punto 1.4 Petrol | 2011 Yamaha YZF-R15

Yummmmmmmy!!! 6xx cc! If the 500 could touch 150, what'll be possible on the 6xx?! As for me, I am building castles in the air already! Hope they don't get smashed when the actual bike is released! Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do, what they need is one reason why they can.

the major difference is the pulling power or the torque.enfield never does any homework,or it would have had revised gear ratios and timing curve, they just bored the engine and put in a vm 28 carb.also i would say tht points provide explosive low end power as they run on battery and provide consistent spark intensity.minus is flutter at high rpm. and maintainence.the avl is not better,t'bird has better pickup.\'87 High Torque RD 350B
in first gear,6000 rpm, whack the throttle.

But Rajnish, they do have the same engine, dont they? (except for the CV carburettor in the TBird which has actually reduced the initial a bit according to mag reports). Ofcourse they have different gearboxes (even if the final ratios are the same resulting in the same top end). Does the difference in the other ratios provide better acceleration? Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do, what they need is one reason why they can.

Hey Max,
I can understand ur feelings as by big bro is also a Bulleteer. He is just crazy about his Bullet. He does face some minor probs on his bike but he does solve them with love. I try to convince him that my Pulsar 180 is better than his Bullet but he always smiles and says that Bullet can't be compared with any other bike. I don't show him but in deep corner of my heart I do feel that he is right. No other bike can meet the charisma of Bullet (forget about Karizma).
Regarding your query about the model in which the new engine will reside, it will be in Thunderbird and not Machismo, though I personally prefer Machismo. For more information log on to http://www.royalenfield.com/viewtopi...d=963&archive=

Thanks P180rider, I have been a member at royalenfield.com for long now, but never really check out the discussions. I thought the link you had posted was a confirmed news from the company itself about the launch of the the TBird 500. But this is just a discussion going on there like we are having here, right? Doesn't seem like the company has confirmed anything as yet. Hopefully, those guys are right and the 500 will be launched by next month end. But, but... a probable on-road price of 1,10,000/-? Guess it will take a few more years before I can afford that expensive a machine. Thanks for the info anyway!
As far as the charisma of the Bullet goes, it depends on the rider. Either you hate it, or you love it. In my case, I have done both at sometime or the other! Loved it and hated it! And right now...well...
