Its really bad comparing Number plate design and these above Etiquette.

Then what do you expect to say? No rules for number plates? Even with the prevailing rules people emboss "BOSS" on number plates!!! Without the rules, do you even think anyone would put up a number plate?

Laws are laws be it for number plate or for license!!!

Nice info, but am a bit confused as well.It said somewhere that we should have the registration details on the left side of the wind shield as well.Does this imply to motorcycles or just cars alone?

          @ aargee

Please come down, I speaking about the number plate design that is used by over 90% of bikers in my city.

As I mentioned before they use 1 inch font for Front and 1.3 for rear and its easily readable,(Not the funky ones) I have hardly seen any IND number plates here.

^^ IMO that means inline with the spine of the chassis.

                      Hi,
Correct Abhijeet. What shown in the picture is not allowed. Read as "For Motor cycles the registration mark in the front shall be displayed parallel to the handle bar or any part of the vehicld including mudguard facing the front", but when it comes to mudguard, you will have to adhere to the font size. Little bit of common sense?

So, does that mean, the number plate can be put up on the windshield of a faired motorcycle ?

Yes, as long as its a Number Plate, like the R15, Gladiator etc. But many guys remove the Plate and Just stick the Numbers directly on the windshield. Which is not entertained.

in simple terms it means, a plate parallel to the axle isn't it??

                            Hi Aargee,
Yes, that is how it has put up on Fz as well as on Ninja (just below windshield).

[QUOTE=aargee;679799]Rule 50: Form and manner of display of registration marks on the motor vehicles

                                2) In the case of motor cycles the registration mark in the front shall be displayed parallel to the handle bar or any part of the vehicld including mudguard facing the front instead of, on a plate in line with the axis of the vehicle:

bro, the registration numbers can be on a mudguard, windshield or any other front part of d bike... but it should be horizontal and not vertical. that's what
the phrase "in line with the axis of the vehicle" means i guess.. and it should also comply to with the rules of the size of the font, distance between the numbers, lines, etc. which is not possible in case of mudguard IMO. And the registration numbers should be at the center of the vehicle and not at any corner of the vehicle.

bro, you missed the word "instead of"..

EDIT: its just my interpretation. i may be wrong...
A crash on d road may kill d biker n d bike, but d relationship btwn d bike n d biker never dies.

Its only next to d relationship btwn d mother n her baby.
