    thank you
If you mean "Official" Imports, the companies service them through their authorized Distributor network. While because of the low volume, there are few of them, the service one gets is quite good.

          • The Kawasaki Balius II was a 250cc Inline-four. Not sure if its still in production though...

The CB400 is the best in-production inline four out there, but there are rumors of the new Hornet 250. But whether it stays an inline four or not remains to be seen.

              • Talking of Japan only bikes, the 250 twin VTR is such a sweet deal. This should rock in India if it is priced below the Ninja.

I hope the Ninja sells like hotcakes, which would coax other manufacturers out of their 150cc slumber.

                • The VTR 250 would be a great bike for Indian conditions but it might not sell well here. That's because it has no fairing and so no 'dhoom' factor for 99% of our biking junta.

Perhaps Honda has based their upcoming 250 on this platform. If its there at the auto expo we'll get to know.

The Comet had no fairing, but it seems to have striken a chord with people here. And I guess people who love bikes enough to spend 2 lakh+ on them will definitely know their stuff.

                    My two cents...

Then Hyosung should also reintroduce the GT250R eFi, the faired version of the Comet with Fi!

Dont care about the dhoom factor... I'll be this baby's first buyer if it reaches our shores ...

But if at all honda gets this bike here, it will be cheaper than ninja cause this bike can easily be manufactured and assembled in their existing plant.
Calling all 250ccs to India !!

                        • the only problem with a motorcycle w/o fairing is cutting through speeds at ton up speeds...

half fairing should do just fine...

no longer seeing the R6S in production...

Well, from my recent experience I think I could be of help.
As fate would have it, I misplaced the only key I had to my 954 a few weeks back.
Extensive and very intensive research helped me conclude the following:

                                1. If you're bike is running H.I.S.S. you're almost doomed if you do not have a key.

                                2. There is hardly anyone around in India who can make you a key without having an already chipped one.

                                3. If you're 954 is American spec you are a very lucky chap, you do not need to change the ECU as they did not have H.I.S.S. just get a locksmith to cut a key for you.

                                4. You will need a working chipped key to be able to duplicate another one made.

                                5. Another way of working around H.I.S.S. is you can buy a cheap used ECU off ebay and a wiring harness to go with that.

                                6. Wiring Harness for H.I.S.S. bikes ECUs is different from the American spec non H.I.S.S. bikes, and you don't wanna play around/jump wires on these bikes.

                                7. The only hitch to buying a used ECU is that it could be running some crap map, so you will need a Power Commander to sort that out.

                                8. Another cost effective way to work around the H.I.S.S. is the ECU module suggested by Stewarch.

For more reference and help lookup the following thread:
Lost my key, please help! - Sportbikes.net

Good luck with what you do, but please stay away from those burn a new chipped key, and alter some code guys.
The only source I could trace for this is someone in UK who does that for 250 GBP plus 25 GBP extra odd for each key. For this you have to send them your ECU and they post the stuff back to you.
