all ur 150 180 190 200 + 10 10 cc all have the same speedo sensor and stuff.
Typical bajaj , they are far more accurate than the r15 speedo , who cares about it when u still know that there are bikes faster than u :-D:-D

most of the speedo s have 5-7% error.
plus if u change ur tire profiles ur speedo readings are going 2 take a beating. The speedo's are caliberated as per the stock profiles , so a bigger front tyre ll give a haywire reading.

a simple observationthat i did a few days back

i rode my sis's bike to a particular destiantion her odo showed 7 kms

then the next day i went again to that place on my 200 it showed the distance at 6 kms

i was a little baffled to see the differnece in the read out........thot that analogue digital diference......so the took my brothers rtr to the same place the next day it showed as 6.5kms.........

so now guys wat am saying here is that maybe we can say that analogue meters dont have the most accurate read out but wat about digital read outs?

the rtr's read out was more closer to the analogue one does this mean that the 200's speedo shows less distance than it should......even wen ive gone to belgaum via nh4 it clearly says 154 kms but my bike's odo read out at 141 wen i reached belgaum.......

wat are ure views on this???? is the 200 spot on and showing the EXACT read out or is it lagging?
Guys he is talking about ODO Kms reading not the speed kmph. It can be a firmware error in the ODO. But think like this speedo is damn accurate and odo is off by 7 % higher. You get a good feel of typical high mileage feel

Dude, if it shows less, it is "More" accurate ...

but why you guys not believing me, if I say XCD has most accurate speedo?? Remember, XCD was released after UG3 ///

and again even at Top Speed, XCD shows a variation of 3kmph only (90 vs 93).

            --
@ vijaycool: So you mean to say that ODO may read different, even if Speedo is fairly accurate. Firmware Error in the ODO?? By the way, Scooties generally read optimistically ... Even my Kinetic Zing did ...

As far as I 'assume' from situation, my P180 Odo is "generally fine" in this matter ...

              @ VIJAY COOL......
brother that is exactly wat im saying........but it looks like the 200/220 read outs seem alot more accurate.....one other small observation the rtr doesnt show speed when you reverse.....whereas the 200 does.....this is bcoz of contact n non contact type........am i rite???

which brings me down to my main conc. whihc is more accurate in terms of ODO readout.......

now plz dont take offence here guys if there are rtr owners n it seems as though that the rtr is a lil off here then plz dont wage war on this thread....

probably the best way to settle this will be the pulsar 200 150 r15 rtr n flame all going together from point a to point b together.........all start and stop together at a common point n note the differneces......

but whoz gona bell this cat.......i.e. who is gona take this experiment on and do it?

The best way to solve this issue.
Take a gps preferably some good highways with long stretches. set the trip meter to '0' also set the start point on gps. travel 25kms and check the difference bet odo and gps measured distance and set trip 2 to 0 and ride back. I dont have gps device orelse i would have done this before.
Out of the 50 kms in the odo readout if the gps is showing -5 km error then we are in 10% error which will affect mileage calcualtions.

A mobile GPS is very accurate, AFAIK.
Today morning's rip to office, I saw a speedo readout of 120 Kmph, and the A-GPS of the N85 showed 117.8 kmph.
