I made accident in scooter due to others stupidity on the Road.

I felt that 2 channel ABS is must for any two-wheelers in INDIA.

I hit a jump at atleast 90-100 km/h. And all I remember seeing is the bike doing somersaults. And I wake up to see my shoulder scraped off. And major bruises. And blood all over my shirt. I thank God I m still in one piece considering how I used to ride with no regard to myself or others
Did you ran over speed breaker ? Can't guess what happened !
      Are you alright now ??

Touch wood i never had any type of accident till date.
But I want to share one experience
I was riding around 80~90 kmph at highway, and as we know that we have excellent roads in india ,I hit a pothole which i wasnt able to see in streetlight.
The bike swerved and i lost control of bike.
I dont remember much, I just remember i did panic braking ,put my whole power to apply brakes and my bike stopped absolutely straight.
        No damage at all.
Might be i was lucky ,or bike stopped without falling as I have a karizma ,which has rock solid chassis and stability.

          1. Always wear riding gears.
          2. Never show- off on the street, there are tracks for that.
          3. Don't own the vehicle that has more power level than your skill level.

When things get wrong, DON'T PANIC!

And hope that you are not riding faster than your guarding angel.

mine was maybe the luckiest.I was riding my friend pulsar and was going on a main road(not a highway) at a speed of 50kmph the dual digit in the speedo is unforgatteble. So me being careless didnt wear any safety gears nor a helmet as the duration was only 200m (i am sorry). It was a small lane i saw a truck guy speeding at me with high speed .I knew at this moment i am done but there was a pile of sand beside i just jumped on it leaving the bike on itself and BAAAM....It got crashed .the bike went forward and rolled like a stone on the road for 2 times and went sliding .i just got bruises on my left elbow .The petrol started to leak soon and was in a pool of blood. The parts was scarted all over the road .The truck guy was beaten by nearby as he was drunken and was speeding .police was at the spot someguy had called.i checked my bike damages the meter was broken, engine aurd bent ,tank half dented ,handle bent ,tail panel broken, saree gaurd bent .I was crying to see the bike in the sobber state suddenly a hand came through my shoulder it was my friend he said it ok and he learnt the story from a guy der (good). The truck guy did a settlment of money of around 25k and he paid 5k for the police not to file a fir .i was left free took my pulsar towed it to bajaj and luckily they had all the parts they just fitted it and total cost was 18k and we enjoyed with 7k as a party treat lol the bike was given back the next day as they said somepart was not avlbl i dont remember but after few days my right leg started a limp my ankle pained checked it and i got a air crack in my leg DAMN....so 20 days i had to wear a sock and still date i am good and i dont use the road .One may complain now why did u speed so much sorry guys for this it was a heavily moded bike a 150-to 220(oversize) .carb was with some damn big float i remember its mileage figures was just 20kmpl and it had a 3:00 tyre at rear and a damn k&n filter with just a knick of accelerator it used to reach 80 with eze .guys ride safe even thgh i been at 0 he would have crashed he claimed his speed was 60+ and he couldnt stop it at that damn curve i wld hv surely died that day but my reflexes showed out

Buddy good to know you are safe. Just one bit you should not have let the truck guy off especially after knowing he was drunk. He deserved illegally prosecuted. Taking money and letting people off is encouraging rogue behaviour. Dont let these guys off.

Last monsoon, it was raining moderately. I was at in 25 to 30KMPH speed as my 200NS does not have ABS and I have previous experience of brake lock and skid.
I was riding very cautiously. I see the empty road and I open the throttle till 35 KMPH.

An auto parked on the side of the road suddenly decides to take a turn (single lane road) with no blinkers or lights what soever. The entire auto is covered with black cover to protect its occupants from the rain.

I push my brake hard. Rear wheel locks up. I skid. Hurt my knee very bad.

The problem with Indian roads is that you might be a Rossi when it comes to handling your vehicle, but there definitely will an idiot in every corner waiting to screw you up.

Reminds me of an accident that happened 12.5 years back. It was around 11 in the night and I was dropping my friend home after dinner. His house was just 4-5 Kms from my place. Since the roads were empty, we were riding at around 60-65 kmph. Just when I was about to reach his home, a stupid taxi driver who had parked his car on the left decided to take a sharp U turn without even using the indicator.

My bike was just a two months old and I was still getting used to the new disk brakes on the front wheel of my Pulsar 150 DTSi, the sudden breaking meant a front wheek lock up and a bad fall, damaging the front wheel along with a few other broken parts. While my friend escaped with just a few bruises on his knees. I had badly damaged my face due to the skid. Fortunately, I was wearing a helmet which saved my head.

That was the end of half face helmet for me. Never have ridden a bike without helmet before and after this incident. This incident reinforced my belief on usage of good quality full face helmets.

                        • Kissed the road after a long time [29/0919]

                          Hello all,

This happened to me on the night of 29th September when I was going for my night shift on my workhorse Pulsar LS135 around 8pm'ish, in Noida NCR (under the atta flyover to be specific).

I was riding along the left sidewalk with a white BMW sedan on my right. As we reached the wider portion under the flyover we started picking speed heading straight towards botanical garden (my destination). Without giving any prior indication and after passing the first half of the road the driver took a sudden left turn in front of me. I don't remember if I even got a chance to apply brakes effectively and I crashed into its left front door. My speed must be anywhere between 35-45 km/hr. Next, I remember smacking my lt cheekbone on the road ( the impact inside the helmet made me realize instantaneously that I just dodged permanent brain damage and facial disfigurement, I had a full face KYT helmet,5 yr old, bought for Rs.8,000 at that time). I remember lying there in a lot of pain especially right knee but conscious of being able to move all my limbs. Within seconds people gathered around me with traffic horns blaring in the background bringing me some relief in the thought that now I won't become a roadkill.
Good people helped me to the side under the flyover, called the police even took the number of the car which i discovered had fled the scene --- it hurts me at so many levels.
i was admitted in a private hospital, got the MLC done, x rays showed no fractures and so after consultation with the orthopedist took discharge the next day.

                          Lessons learned from this:-

                          #
Get a medical insurance asap. Things get a lot easier for everyone especially if you need longer/intensive medical care or procedures.
                          # Be more vigilant of the mistakes other motorists can make, esp. near turns. I do practice defensive riding but as we see that two wheelers usually assemble near the outer left or right of the road during heavy and slow traffic. I can try to be in the middle but it always feel safer to be on the sides( I have had instances with the car tyre rubbing off against my shoes while standing in the middle of traffic). What do you think ?
                          # ATGATT - I never got back my knee guards from the cousin who borrowed them months ago for a ride.
                          # May be get a cruiser like an avenger or a sports like R15 for better control and breaking power. This is not a lesson just an afterthought.

My bike is still impounded at the Film City police station. I don't know if i will file an FIR yet.

                          Takecare everyone.
                          Ride safe.

This happened 2 days before. An elderly woman was crossing the road to go to the garden for a walk. A kid (16/17) on ktm hit her. She fell down and bled a lot. People gathered, thrashed the kid, got the woman to hospital. Meanwhile the kid's mother came to the spot. The bike was not even the kid's. He borrowed it from his friend. Police arrived and took him to police station. Now people are telling that she is in a coma or she has died due to internal bleeding.

My take on this story is -
                            1) No rash driving/overspeeing in city roads.
                            2) Do not lend your bikes to young people without license. It may also lead to jail time.
                            3) Be very careful when driving in small roads. Anything can come in front of your bike suddenly. Dogs, kids, people, vehicles. etc

So I was coming back from dropping my uncle earlier today, around noon. Simply cruising at 40-50 kmph on the left most lane of a divided 4 lane main road.

Suddenly a rickshaw wala decided to make a steep right turn, I braked and crashed, fell down. Skin peeled & bled on left middle finger and some bruised on left leg. It happened so fast, I didn't even realise what direction I fell in.

P220 being heavy, it needed 3 normal people to lift and move aside from road. Meanwhile, the rickshaw wala made eye contact with me and fled away. But good Samaritans are everywhere, and offer help.

Moral - Beware of rickshaws & always wear gloves/gear no matter how small your ride may be.

Funny thing I was reading this thread earlier today.
