Accident that I haven't witnessed nor been part of it, but for sure, it got me down this morning...
Feel free to remove if inappropriate as there could be 1000's of such stories floating around the internet & potentially this thread could be misused
I was walking around in a supermarket when i saw a cashier hand this little boy his money back, the boy couldn’t have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Cashier said, ‘I’m sorry, but you don’t have enough money to buy this doll.” The little boy turned to the old woman next to him, ”Granny, are you sure I don’t have enough money?” She replied, ”You know that you don’t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.”
Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. ‘It’s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.
She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.’ I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. ‘No, Santa Claus can’t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.’ His eyes were so sad while saying this, ‘My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.”
My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said, ‘I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.’ Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ‘I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won’t forget me.’ ‘I love my mommy and I wish she didn’t have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.’ Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly. I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ‘Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll!” OK’ he said, ‘I hope I do have enough.’ I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it.
There was enough for the doll and even some spare money. The little boy said, ‘Thank you God for giving me enough money!’ Then he looked at me and added, ‘I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me!” ‘I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn’t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.” ‘My mommy loves white roses.’ A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket. I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started. I couldn’t get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy I read in the newspaper that the young woman had passed away.
I couldn’t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine, and in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

I was riding in the chennai bypass. When I saw an young man maybe in his early 20's riding very fast about 90 km/h I think so. He had his helmet lock in the helmet lock behind his bike. I was thinking why should he have brought the helmet if he is going to lock it up instead of using it. Then about 4 kms ahead I saw a tipper lorry parked but with lot of people gathered around it. To my dismay I found the young man's bike squished in the back of the tipper. It looked as if he has parked his bike under the tipper. The front of the bike was like a part of the tipper. The rest of the bike was intact. I saw the young man in a pool of blood. He was declared dead. The young man was knowledgeable enough to buy a helmet but stupid enough not wear it. Ride safe.

that is really sad.
strict law has to be made, the license has to be cancelled if people are seen driving without helmet instead of taking bribes and letting them go

My RX135 totaled
Guys, my RX135 has been totaled this afternoon. I did a general service yesterday and noted the parts which needed replacement and was about to order the parts through Neelesh for rebuild. But one of my friend asked to borrow the bike for a ride and I foolishly gave him the keys, and he totaled the bike. He escaped with minor bruises thanks to the helmet. According to him, he was riding and he lift his hand off the throttle to get his ringing cellphone out of his jeans pocket. All of a sudden a stray cattle came in front of him and he stomped the rear brake panicking. The bike skidded and he fell, he had only minor bruise as the road was not paved and it was raining earlier and he was wearing a helmet. But my bike slipped under a oncoming truck and was crushed like a worm under boot. The bike has been hauled off by the cops and I don't think I'll be able to get it out, even if I do, it won't be feasible to restore it. Too sad, I'm not even allowed to take pictures of the bike
Today is a really sad day for me and my dream of rebuilding an RX shattered. I was planning a rebuild and this happened. I learned a lesson from this incident, I'll never ever let anyone borrow my bike.I am back!

1. Never give our rides to others, even if we are giving, we should be seated in the back. (I have also had an episode like this wherein I gave my bike to one of my friend and I was in his home as he went out but later came bleeding and told me a lie that he had met with an accident in another bike. I blindly trusted him and went off with my and did not notice the scratches, the bend on the guard etc., as it had rained sometime back and when I went to one of my friend's home that he noted that and asked me where did I met with an accident, I thought he was joking and later he showed me the scratches, the bend guard, etc,. I felt really bad, thank god for the guard or else, the tank, the indicators, the back shield everything would had gone. . . I later called him immediately to ask but he still argued saying he did not fall in my bike. . . I felt really bad he did a mistake and still did not accept it)
2. NEVER USE CELLPHONES WHILE RIDING!!!
Ride safe. . .Yamaha Rx135 - 2005 - 2007 (stolen )
Scooty Pep - 2008 - 2012 (sold)
Honda Unicorn - 2012 - 2015 (crashed)
Hero Honda Splendor+ 2015 - present (temporary ride)
Bajaj Pulsar AS200 - 16th September 2015 - present ride
10 years into riding :D

Re: My RX135 totaled
try level best not to share your ride. even if you do, make sure the guy is skilled as you are or more skilled than you.
sad for you cleaner..... it has been 9 months since I lost my bike after my Dad's accident. he is fine but still needs time to be fully alright.
only a fellow biker understands my pain. You can see, im almost non active in xbhp. it hurts to read reviews and other biking stuff.Last edited by Legend Racer; 05-11-2013, 10:19 PM.I'm a responsible rider. It doesn't matter what you ride, but what matters is how you ride.

re: Accidents that you witnessed/experienced and what you learnt from them?
I once had acrash while going to the school with pillion as my younger sister. The speed was around 65-70 kmph(Sorry for crossing the speed limit which was AFAIK 30-35kmph). At a small turn the bike suddenly got overleaned to the left and than fell down and stopped after 20 metres...my sister was not wearing a helmet...i dunno why but my left hand was below her left ear to protect her.....She just had a pair of bruises but my thigh had swallowed a 6cm long stone. My Chest was hit with RVM....A rib swollen and left hand finger's bones were clearly visible....still i rode to the hospital for my sister.... ;-) its true that,"Apne toh apne hote hai".....

Re: My RX135 totaled

You may say this photo is off-topic but it's somewhat related to motorcycle crashes.
I once saw Tata 207DI loading straws just like that in NH37. The straws went over a biker sending him off the highway to the deep paddy fields next to the highway. The biker hit a power line post resulting in instant death. Too bad, the authorities don't enforce the rules of the road properly.I am back!

Heres one more,A pulsar 180(brand new) 2000 kms done and 28 days old of my friend(Ranjeet) and R15 of another friend (aayush) crashed to an alto while they were racing @90kph.I was at first so easily took pass from the car before a turn. But suddenly the car took a turn towards right [i think he wanted to park the car].The riders as well as pillions were not geared up,it was none less than a miracle that all four were safe but r15,s chasis had to be changed while p180's rim, exhaust, front shocks,Disc rotor,Handle T, Wiring, fuel tank were fully damaged.
Here are the pics.... thats ranjeet sitting over R15 and other one is vips at showroom's workshop(we did a new stunt)...lol
