I do not mind people sitting on my scooter,as long as they do not use coins/keys/bags with those big a** key-chains attached to the zippers to intentionally/unintentionally cause harm to the state of my scooter.
But another bad point is that they twist the fraking mirror to decorate themselves, this leaves me trying to adjust it perfectly!
And sometimes two or more dumbfvks sit on the scooter when it is parked on the side stand;my friend's activa had a bent side stand due to the same.

It is really difficult when your bike is the only one in the area . Mine is the only ZMR in my engg college , it was really difficult to hide it from peoples . When the class ends the guys gather to argue with each other what is there & what is not & playing with switches etc . Same situation in parking lots at malls peoples attracted & try to do some r&d in it . Using alarm is not good way as i have seem them emptying batteries of bikes fitted with alarms when owner is not there .

Then i got a solution just find 2 vehicles parked on main stand & park my bike in between them in opposite direction . So the seat is not available to rest them , so no r&d is found anymore .

Though i prefer my other bikes when i need to go outside & have to park them there for more time .

I would deffer here a little bit from most of the replies here.

No one would like any one sitting or posing on someones bike.

People many a time mistakes between passion, addiction and relation.
May be it's a car/bike, it's a machine and no life to it. Human gets bonded not machines.

Why do we buy a bike or car is it that we can't live with out it for any secs ??? Nope, nothing like that! It's just a passion or choice!!

We like to ride top ends bikes becuase of speed or looks, that's it. Many a time it's a status sign!!

If any kids is sitting on bikes then what?? he is a kid and he will. becuase your bike attracted him. Few immature individuals pose around your bike becuase they like your bike, they don't have that bike or they are admirers of that bikes!! or will to buy some day!!
There is no sentence like earlier i had a X bike which is Y old, so i never mind. No my friend, bike is a bike and love is love, whether it's old or new expensive or cheap!!

I own a R15 now, earlier i owned an Aspire the situation is always same, some people posing or seating or scratching my bike. I use to maintain my aspire too so i maintain my R15 too.

But when i have decided to ride a bike then i will maintain it too. i have changed my signals so many times becuase kids run around my R15 in my complex and my signal breaks! I never scolded them. Once i had scolded, still i feel guilty. I changed that signal but that kid still runs from me whenever i he sees him. It's like he fears me now. Which bad onmy part!

"Money can be earned today or later but what about our image in front of people"

(If our brother or son spoils something on other bikes and he scolds then how will we feel?? even it's a R1 we will ask him what's the cost of that part??? right", but no scolding on our love ones)

Now about scratched, get it painted or change the part. if you notice then it's US who really spoil our own bikes, check your tanks, there would be many scratched just becuase of our bags or our own pants/legs while seating or some other way.

These are minor things friends!! If you own a SBK or Splendour no matter, you own it so maintain it. Don't we think on this sides too while purchasing a bike??. Maintenance.

My Big B have fitted a antitheft alarm in his 2005 P150. and still he loves is bike like hell. so no one touched it or plays with it. But this is really very irrtating when suddenly it starts playing and we have to leave our work and come to shut it off.

So chill!!!! Love Humans and care for them not for machines, Maintian the machines well, will keep the bike in superb conditions.

I don't scold children. They are immature. But I wont tolerate grownups. And we putted our hard earned money in a bike not to see someone scratching it or vandalizing it. And I dont mind if I made a scratch. ITS my BIKE.

Some stupid idiot today inserted a tightly and properly folded bus ticket in to the ignition hole of my Dazzler. I was a little away from the bike having tea. I returned and tried to insert my key and it pushed the paper deep into it. Initially thought its a small one and tried to mash it with water. Thats it!! It completely screwed up the hole. After lot of effort for 3 hours I was able to insert the key full into the hole, but it did not turn. I guess the mashed up paper went inbetween the lock plates inside and jammed them. I put my bike in the mechanic there for the night.

Tomorrow, I am gonna get a new lock set.

The plates inside the lock jammed due to mashed up paper. Had to change the entire lockset. It costed me 1400 rupees (1150 lockset + labor charges).

This is how a bust ticket costed me 1400 bucks, courtesy: a stupid idiot.

Unfortunately no. If insurance companies would cover such moronic acts they would go bankrupt in a couple of days.

@Ravi - my blood boiled when i read your incident. No amount of education will cure this menace. People should be taught and conditioned to respect others property from childhood itself.

I see so many cars with a nice long scratch from bumper to bumper and some with names and other doodling scribbled onto them. Catching them in the act and bashing their brains out although not the best thing to do will teach these morons to think before doing such things.

Doesn't it qualify as vandalism which (I think) is covered by insurance ? I mean had it been a more expensive bike, the lock would have cost quite a lot of money to replace.

Seriously me too. If it ever happened in front of me, I'd beat the daylights out of the ba$tard.

Problem is all this talking of catching them in the act is all fanciful day-dreaming. Most of our lives are too busy to spend a week spying on our bike.

My dream solution - install the bike with cameras all around (digital "eyes"), write a super artificially intelligent bot that produces a huge electric shock or causes some kind of harm to the person (perhaps a robotic arm comes out of nowhere and punches their nose real hard) if it detects that someone is trying to damage the vehicle. Too bad we don't live in sci-fi movies

Bcoz of an idiot, its you who paid a lot of money. I was very angry reading it. Imagine if this happened in a long ride.

Cameras are nothing. ITs like a small amount of current should be passed on to the idiot who plays with the bike.Like the tazer, it should work. It should give him an experience that he should be afraid to touch another bike.

its so bad. i got angry even reading this.

similar incidents happen a lot in my locality. once my mother caught a few childrens playing in our appt parking were pouring sand and small stones carefully into one bike's exhaust.
once my neighbour's bike's petrol lock was torn apart in an attempt to steal petrol.
we once even planned to install CCTV cameras in parking.
                              its really bad.
