Is this the new RE thunderbird 500 being ridden by SRK?

@ asif
The problem is (from what I can gather) that you think people here are making a big fuzz just because SRK has been seen riding the bike.
Well, there was a separate thread when Katrina kaif was riding an already launched Classic 500, so this thread is pretty much justified.
And as for the fact that how is it an indication of launch, well then RE would like to capitalize on the movie launch and the promos and launch the bike around the same time as movie release.
Interest in Ducati Monster received a boost after the Ra.One movie trailors showed SRK riding a monster.
RE is hoping for something similar.

Just a curious question. I am not a very big fan of RE but I have started liking the new Classic 500 design & believe that the newer REs have better tech than the older one.
All is fine. The spoke rims looks fantastic but let me ask you RE owners/enthusiasts. Why the hell RE doesn't come up with a good looking alloy having Tubeless Tyres!!?? I mean, a touring bike must have tubeless tyres! I don't think it's fun (some may feel macho
) to pull a heavyweight like the bull when it's got a puncture!!

Again this aint to anybody in person only my views
People just love to hate the stars
I am open to SRK coming and posting here too why cant he or what ?
Cant he drive bikes or what.
SRK may be double the age of half the people posting here and might have test driven more bikes and cars than most of the people here. Somebody already mentioned Ducati up there.
Most people started to ride a bike immediately seem to start thinking they are the best bikers and got a right to review this is so funny. Yes of-course you can review but then so can SRK.ASHWIN NARVEKAR

If you are looking from a tourer's perspective, yes, it should have a tubeless tyre mounted on alloy wheels. But if you look it from rural perspective (for which the bike was famous till recent past), you'll find spoked wheels more suitable for the purpose. Spokes can bear more load, can handle shocks/bumps/ups-n-downs more effectively than alloys. And you know the roads in Indian city... what will be the condition of those kachha roads in village then !?Originally posted by rx100.7050 View PostJust a curious question. Spokes do a better job there and not alloys.
Second thing is if you let go the old clasic look, all the chrome, that retro style, that typical RE thump what else is so special/unique with RE to encash customer's attention !? nothing right... so changing from spokes to alloys will disturb the overall look and FEEL of RE, for which it is more popular. And they definitely won't want to ruine their party.
But yeah, I completely agree with you that alloys ARE a need of today's bike (tourer). RE should come up with alloys as an option at least...Originality is the art of hiding your sources...

Agree to you to a certain point, Rahul but not much. I have definitely seen Bull being loaded to the hilt but even today's alloy's do a good job. You know what, these are small requirements which, if it can be provided, can attract new customers, you know what I meanOriginally posted by Rahul.Gvli View PostIf you are looking from a tourer's perspective, yes, it should have a tubeless tyre mounted on alloy wheels. I don't care about the thump much but I definitely look forward to a carefree, reliable, good touring bike
Classic has really caught my attention to a point that sometimes I think that since there is no other 'alternative', I may get a Classic 500 Fi myself! Fi, good looks, more reliable than the older models & SXC classic design but still..."HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic

You should also consider that RE has ridiculous shock absorbers, nothing compared to the new age bikes. I have a C500 and although I take a lot of care with the bike and ride carefully but still I have managed to bent my front rim...just a sudden pothole and THUDDD...it would have easily cracked the alloy. I can take the pain of dragging my bike for 5 kms. than to get stranded in the middle of the road looking for a new rim.Originally posted by rx100.7050 View PostJust a curious question. So I guess before RE comes up with alloys, they will have to come up with better shock absorbers
.
Also with my 12000 Kms of riding on my RE I had only one puncture and that too in front of a puncture shop (may be that why I am not sold on alloy as yet
