how can one say we are still not yet ready for big bikes ? if they launch only we can buy and drive big bikes...till then how bike makers can make them selves think like that...i cant understand those useless ideas.... but 27 bhp air cooled 300cc and no back disk honda mostly wont launch cb300 here...HMSI will ready a a difff bike only here ! not this one !

And because of precisely this reason, I think (if and when its launched) Ninja 250 will prove to be a watershed event for Indian market !

A lot will depend of the response to the Ninjette by the buying public!!
It might open the flood gates to such medium capacity bikes, or it can bury the segment once and for all !!
Even Indian customers always responded to a good product in a positive way...... When CBZ was launched, no1 would even thinking of bringing such a thing...... then 220 came....... customers were there....... if the companies always want the masses to buy the product then that wont be possible till 2020(not 20-20 match )...... Take the example of Dev-D(may be wrong comparision)....... It was not launched in small towns........ Only multiplexes....... but then also it was a hit........ Even Royal Enfield is launching products in other countries n then in India...... why these companies are discriminating........
At least let Ninja come...... I'll be happy with it for few years ......

And to make it non-OT from OT :

Anyone else here thinks a high torque, smooth engine like ZMA and P220 will serve much better in a cruiser mould !! I mean an Avenger 220. Much better than the streetbike engine of 200 wich just cant disguise itself its revvy nature !!

I mean, we know there is a market for cruisers in India (Royal Enfield has shown that )
And, cruiser fan are generally not that demanding for regular updates and BHP bumps. Give them a good enuff product and they'll keep buying it for years !! (Again Royal Enfield has shown that !!)
I thought like that times ago. But, a bit beyond what you suggest.

The 220cc powerplant can have a bigger Stroke, which would be helpful for cruisers. Right?
So, we can have something like Avenger 240/ 250, which should stay cooler due to higher gearing, long stroke construction & lower revving than Pulsars.

A Great & economical touring machine is what we would get! But again, Who listens to we, The Xbhpians?

If and when it is launched. Right now, it's just a distant dream.

Before that they can get the CBF 250 aka Hornet which they showcased in the 2006 Auto Expo, alongwith the Yamaha Fazer 250&TVS Taurus 250, all of which never made it into production.

PS: I never thought I would ever post in this gigantic and square thread. Sometimes "being in hope" makes you do silly things
