      Looks good, modern, and clear!
Good thing too that we did not have to ''re-learn" how to use the site: all the controls fall in hand nicely, just like before!
When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!

Why so much hullabaloo over the redesigned website for xBhp?

Because this is not just a website redesign. What we have adopted here is a refreshed vision and a new path that builds upon the rich legacy of xBhp as India’s biggest catalyst of safe lifestyle motorcycling in India. A good vision is most important than any singular product.

Without further ado, we would first like to tell you of the most important changes and additions that we have with the 10th Anniversary Edition of xBhp.

xFlo: This is the xBhp home page and certain sections like Touring and Ownership Experiences which can be browsed as a long stream of hand picked content from the xBhp troves. We call it the xFlo. The ideal way is to grab a cup of coffee and start reading!

The New Talkies: The talkies had been upgraded a few weeks ago, now they sport the 10th Anniversary edition theme as well. But the best part is yet to come in the coming weeks – lots of new additions to make the conversations and participation more meaningful for everyone.

xBlog: This will see select authors (by invitation/ referral only) blog their minds and opine about things related to motorcycling and sometimes peripheral issues. We are starting with the three-core xBhp team members as authors but are looking for others who would like to be a part it. If you know of someone please let us know here. The author’s blogs would be published on xFlo and in the xBhp magazine.

There are a lot of subtle and in the face changes that you will be exposed to as you start using the x(=10)Bhp edition.

          In The near future

          More Meaningful Content

In the coming few months we will be adding a couple of very important sections which should increase your dose of quality reading material. These will be announced as and when they are finished. We do not believe in mindless mining of the Internet to generate news articles the Indian riders.

          The new code of conduct

On the cards is a new system of moderation and handling the quality issues due to various reasons like uninitiated newbies and impulsive behavior catalyzed by the social media phenomenon. The effect of this will come about slowly but surely. After all xBhp is a digital mirror of an entire country and changing the way it’s citizens work is not an overnight task.

          Our core team expands

We would like to thank our existing partners who have understood and believed in our philosophy and effort that it takes to shape an entire lifestyle of an entire generation – Castrol Power1, CEAT Bike Tyres and Wrangler.

Adding to our core team strength is another entity that calls itself as ‘iffort’. This young and driven, digital solutions organization matches with our philosophy of doing new things that make a difference and not just ‘projects’. Iffort will be a key in executing the xBhp digital platform so that more motorcyclists benefit out of the platform. Read more about them here.

          The reason for our existence

Before we leave you with the 10 years of xBhp, we want to let you know that the reason for our existence is not deliberate or planned. xBhp came into being as a single page website in 2001 due to a single man’s passion for his first motorcycle. Today the reason still stands the same. We all want to ride and we want you to ride. The magazine, our roadtrips, our events and the huge digital presence that we have is focused towards producing high quality content and inspiring people to ride and do the same.

When we look around we don’t see a single rider, club or website for motorcycling which has not been influenced by xBhp. That’s our legacy. Please take a moment to take ride down the memory lane here.

          So is it really enough?

Maybe, maybe not, but we are still here and rolling stronger than ever.

          Ride Safe, Ride Long.
          I, the Biker.
          Signing Off.

          1. The use of the term "Catalyst" is grossly inappropriate for a 10 year old, mammoth community both logically and logically!
Since it is something as important as a vision, please establish it with a much stronger sense of belonging!

          2. The xFlo is a welcome addition, but it is supremely cluttered now! You guys\iffort should incorporate “Adaptive designs” layout for this!

          3. Limiting xBlog is a BIG dissapointment IMO. Was looking forward to more of the blogs!! Infact a lot of general Opinion threads are better if they are turned into user blogs!!!

          4. The theme is nice and fresh!! Three things that show up – The style for the Signatures and the Style for the thread titles are epic eyesores!!! Also the title bar seems to be broken. Rest is 2010 material!
Edit: Likes Recieved font colour needs update as well
EDIT2: Last edited Text style needs update as well

          5. The timeline has a bug. It has 2008 entries repeated on it!

          5. Looking (and desperately looking ) forward to the
          - More Meaningful content!!
          - The New Code of Conduct!!!

          Hurray for the change!!!!

However, i find the text hard to read because of the light colored background ... anyone else feel that way?

I don't understand, There could be many constructive issues on the content that I would expect could be debated, but colour scheme was the last thing I expected being commented upon. I find the colour scheme perfectly OK!! The most readable colour scheme from the spectrum is Yellow on Black - Very readable, how many want it?? yikes..

I just saw someone asking for Light grey on grey!! come on guys, give a break, people doing the job are professionals and must have done some research before deciding a set of colours in a scheme they chose.
Life is like riding a bike. It is impossible to maintain your balance while standing still.

The new forums look cool and futuristic, are there any easter eggs for us xbhpians to hunt ?

You'll have another surprise too sunilG wait till I come to delhi...

p.s : I just hope to see more organised and systematic content and search features to use. I find the vbulletin search feature very cumbersome compared to the very fast google search. Fingers crossed !

A man's testosterone level is directly proportional to bhp that he's using on his motorcycle.

Nice, this if implemented correctly would be a significant change in the attitude.

There have been several times when i had to flip through 100+ pages only to fine helpful content in only a few posts.

Another pain-point in the website is the search feature. I hope, this time, the search returns relevant results.

One last and most important pain-point is the auto-logout. I have to keep re-authenticating myself every few minutes.
