Front footpegs were moved forward buy cutting and machining it. Suspensions are hard not so Touring based. I dont like them as a tourer. Will be doing some suspension mods too.
I would like the foot pegs to be brought a little forward and oils seal leaks, is it because of the inverted suspension setup they have? I would also probably like a fitting for center stand.

But too much dirt and wet riding made it wet and it didnt use to dry up quickly thus i installed those rubber bellows thing.

Personally im eyeing towards the dual sports adventure series KTM will bring. They said something abt the 390 Adventure.
Thanks a ton, Ankitvile. Where did you get the foam sock from?

Even I'm looking forward to the 390 Adventure, but let's just say that I got tired of the wait. Ever since I first rode the 200 and loved it, the suspense was becoming too much.

Guys, in the absence of a center stand how do you manage to do things like oiling the chain? Are there any ways to do such things other than using the paddock stand?

I didnt get it. Foam is available in many appliances...usually used as a soft grip at several places. I just pulled it out from the vaccum cleaner's handle i have. It was soft quite wide in dia. So thought that Vaccum cleaner will work without it. So i pulled it off tried it there. Worked well.

Cramster stallion might be a tight fit considering the skinny rear end of the Duke. But I've heard 'The Claw' from ViaTerra is a perfect fit and I'm considering getting one.

Yes the Claw is a perfect fit for the 200/390 Duke.. in fact it was developed over a Duke.

Hey Payeng, hope you are going great. If you remember I had troubled you a year back asking for the D390's status :-)

Yeah, I'm planning to order a Claw for the long rides. It seems to be the best option so far among all the options I saw so far.

Checked with the showroom today about how much it costs to replace the orange alloys with black rims. They gave a figure in the range of Rs 7500. They were not sure about whether the cost of the original orange alloys can be subtracted from this cost.

By the way, the PowerParts sticker set is also available, priced at Rs 4000 something.

re: Modifications on KTM Duke/ RC series

I would like to upgrade headlight bulbs for better illumination during night rides. I read reviews that stock 390 lights are NOT powerful enough for high speed rides during night.

Any one has any plans to upgrade these.

Any suggestion is welcome. I assume D200 headlight mods would work for 390 as well.

Are there any options to upgrade to higher wattage halogen bulbs that gives better illumintaion or should I go for HIDs for the same?

Does any of these modification void warranties?

Other items in upgrade / accessory list are:

                    - Fuel tank scratch pad sticker [available in power parts]
                    - Viaterra claw - Any place in Bangalore where I can get it for good price?
                    - Wind shield - This is a mandatory upgrade in my list. Will wait and watch to see power part availability and after market ones.

Lat but not least - I would like to throw away the stock handle bar grips and upgrade to some classy KTM embossed grips [not sure where in B'lore would I get one?] and change those black clutch and brake levers to some metallic [like aluminum or something] ones. Any inputs on these would be appreciated.

And of course, I would remove rear tire hugger and saree guard.

                    That's my list for now..

Do keep an eye on the KTM Duke 200 Thread. Rider Splus has recently ordered one and he shall be getting one installed on his Duke 200. The installation video has also been shared on that thread. All you need are a bunch of allen keys and the normal screw driver.

BTW the gentlemen i mentioned above is also not from Mumbai but from down south..

re: Modifications on KTM Duke/ RC series

Guys eagerly waiting for my duke 390 to be delivered, while at it thought of buying a few things for the bike.
Anyone who is using an aftermarket grip on their 200? Its because the ones on the dukes are really hard and don't do justice to the otherwise premium build. I want good grips like on the ninja 250r.

Anyone using good aftermarket brake and clutch levers? not the ebay stuff. Likes of asv, renthal etc

                            Performance brake pads? Anyone?

I tried looking over the Internet for all the above accessories but to no avail, if anybody can help me with a place or website that ships to india, that'll be really helpful.

I also want an akrapovic real bad, looks like its not available anywhere in india and importing one is not an option. Would cost me an arm.

                            Why 2wheels over 4.....
Its because 'Whatever it is, it's better in the wind!'

I too want an Akrapovic real bad. I guess if enough of us get together we should be able to figure out a way to smuggle them in

Will be booking a Duke 390 on January (coz I'll be close to completing my engineering, then).
The only mod I need so bad is a bigger fuel tank. Maybe 5 litres more over stock. Because, with that tank, dad'll be like, "Kya re petrol tank me khadda hai kya!?"

But that'll be just a wish, I guess!
