That looks pretty good! Nice work! Lot of work been put into that, definitely worth the effort. That is the complete rear assembly of the v2 isn't it? Swingarm, wheel and tyre, both sprockets, chain, rear disk and calliper? How much did that cost you though?

Haven't seen that mod on a v1 although I've heard many people talking about the same. And did you replace the connecting rods of the suspension as well?

PS. My bad, that's definitely not alloys off the v2. Even the swingarm looks different.

Yeah the swing arm, chain and sprocket, caliper, lower linkage & tyres are from the v2, the rear wheel is from the fz, those parts came close to 20k. You could look for second hand parts from the R125 (the swing arm and brake is the same) from UK to save a bit, not sure you would save much money if sending by courier, but if some is carrying for you then you can save a bit.

I done the swing arm mod primarily for the stability which you get with the v2 at higher speeds, I always found that once you past 110 on the v1 it could get scary at times (cross winds). I didn't much care for the v2 rims, I considered the rims from the NS and CBR, but preferred the fz on the back and kept my stock front, the v2 front tyre is close to it's limit on this rim as it's slightly thinner and the tyre one size wider.

I'm happy with the mod, as the bike is a hobby/project for me, I have no intention of selling the bike and resale value would only prove how much money I've wasted, having said that, there's plenty more to come. For the monsoon, I want to get the tail/lower front painted, mod the seat for a little more comfort with the gel cushioning, new seat fabric either import a little gripper fabric or maybe buy one dio seat (has good grip) and use that fabric, whichever is cheaper, then I need to either fibreglass or do tin work for the under tail, then I will fabricate a new licence plate/turn signal holder. Then mechanically I want to fit a 32mm Throttle body, reinforced conrod and maybe get some head porting done. After that I'll just enjoy the ride, unless I can figure how to fit ABS possible doner would be the Apache, maybe even Duke or CBR, depends if they're independent of the ECU.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Well damn. Kudos to you. That's a lot of work put on that; and all worth it as well. I've considered the v2's rear at times, but guess it's too much work to get done. All the best for your upcoming mods!

Thanks for letting me know about powder coating the silencer pipe. Was almost considering getting that done. There really isn't any alternative to that, is there?
No flaking yet.
Powder coating also won't last on the pipe.

stefanm: That's one hell of a job, more on the swingarm part than the paint, not that it's any less praiseworthy!
I surely recommend getting the lower cowls blacked out. Throwing in some tribal stripes on the side cowls wouldn't harm too!
BTW, You're bloody right about the V1 seat too!

I'll be damned. How could I forget this beauty. I don't normally express against newer vehicle models, but Yamaha surely needs to get their designing team back on track.

There's a store called 'New Bharath Tyres' somewhere between Chakai and Enjaickal junction. I got mine from there. Close to 4k as far as I remember, but good stuff.
