Re: Most annoying things you encounter while riding your bike...

The most annoying things in my list are

1 People spitting form the windows and from 2 wheelers
2 Old people and kids they are so unpredictable , they just simply cross the road with out looking both sides
3 in kerala three things you have to fear on the road . KSRTC (government bus) , private volvo buses and TATA tipper [emoji3] . If you see any one of these coming fast towards you , it's better to run for your life .
4 BIG BIG pot holes everywhere (kerala)

5 I think kerala is the only place in the world where you would do onroad-offroad .

        People on high beam.
People who don't turn the headlights during nigh. For all wheels - two, three and four.
        Riding/driving without rvms and helmets.
Not having basic road sense like not remembering to turn the indicators off.
Listening to music on headphones and crossing the road oblivious to oncoming traffic.
Earlier I used to get angry but nowadays I have realized that the numbers are too many. So, what I do is promote safe riding within the group I am in - office, social gatherings, friend circles etc. All of them don't ride a bike. May sound funny. But t even if I manage to change the mindset of at least 5 people for good, that will be good.

          1. Two-wheelers riding zigzag on the road without caring for the other road-users.

          2. Two-wheelers taking a turn on a T-junction without bothering to check the traffic on the main road.

          3. Heavy transport vehicles [HTV] coming from the opposite side not giving way for two-wheelers.

          4. HTV with additional dazzling lights and not dipping their headlights.

          5. Cars overtaking each other, forcing the two-wheelers to get down to the shoulders.

          6. Cars standing behind in a signalised junction, blasting their horns even when the signal shows red.

          7. Pedastrians jumping a barricade and crossing a busy road at their whims and fancies without bothering their and others' safety even when there is a pedastrians' overbridge.

          8. Pedastrians jaywalking at the centre of a road.

          9. Cattles sitting on the road compelling the riders to do zigzag.

          10. Herd of cattles crossing the road creating a traffic jam.

These are only the proverbial tip of the iceberg. But, I have become thick-skinned and immune to these provocations.

Exactly. What I do feel is truck drivers seem to have a better road etiquette than so called educated people inside the ac comfort of their 15 lakh car. Truck drivers at least will give you way when possible. They will turn the indicators when required. But one should never try to play with the ego of anything having more than three wheels on a highway.:-)

So true. Truck drivers are the most responsible drivers on our highways (there are some exception, but most are really good). They will give way whenever possible and mostly stick to one lane.

As for other things, i hate those who ride with high beams. And i have seen many who install high intensity flashers on the rear and this hurts when you follow them. Don't know why they do so.

The list is never ending. Our road manners are the worse.

              Ride safe and have fun.

Coming to the truck drivers, there are two categories: the ones driving inter-state long distance goods carriers with national permits are gentlemen in general. They give way and dip their lights. The ones driving the local lorries carrying sand/water/bricks are usually ruffians. They don't care about the other road-users. But, there are exceptions in both the categories!

City - Dukes and Pulsars. Period!
                  Highway - Dukes and Pulsars.
Apart from the above mentioned idiots, you have high beam issues, mine is bigger than yours (vehicle/ego, of course), lorries in all lanes, buses, tractors, jaywalkers, no obedience to traffic rules or lanes, cutting corners, not giving way, excessive honking, revving like mad in city, riding without fenders in rain, splashing water on nearby commuters in rains, commuting in the wrong lane, pressure horns, maniac 2 strokers, idiotic suv drivers, female behind the wheel/handle etc.

Sent from my phone. Kindly avoid it while riding.

If one can survive roads of India, rest of the world is a walk in the park while eating a sundae with your girlfriend.

The most annoying thing is jaywalkers. In event of a mishap it's always the biker who's blamed while the jaywalker continues to jaywalk.
Why isn't there nothing done to regulate jaywalking as it is done to ensure helmet safety?

Re: Most annoying things you encounter while riding your bike...

Coming to the mob psychology and instant justice prevailing in India, the bigger vehicles are always blamed although the offender is the smaller vehicle. For example, if a two-wheeler/auto-rickshaw/car collides with a truck, the truck driver is blamed by the crowd. That's why, most of the truckers vanish from the scene of the accident to escape thrashing by the mob. If a two-wheeler/auto-rickshaw dashes against a car, the car driver gets the blame. The same is the case with a pedastrian and a two-wheeler, where the latter is blamed. But, the whole scenario changes, if the driver or rider happens to be a female. The entire crowd supports her even if she is the offender! The hierarchy of vehicles does not matter here. The female drivers/riders have always public sympathy and support!

Re: Most annoying things you encounter while riding your bike...

If I start to list the things I have seen today it will be long, so forget about all the things.

But to simply put things, people who do not follow rules even when they are given chance will annoy me the most, Like
                        1. People who travel on wrong lane even when there is a median gap available to cross over.
                        2. People crossing the road when there is a over bridge available.
                        3. Rider/Driver choosing to stop on red light but beyond the stop line/ or moving slowly till the light changes to green.
                        ....
                        ....
                        ....

Well, I will mostly annoy other people by simply following rules (for most of the time that is).

When I stop on the red traffic signal and some stupid s*n of a b***h a*s l****g bas***d is honking from behind!!!! Sorry for the outburst, just happened 1 hr back. On top of that that, the re***d autowalah almost brushed my bike when he overtook me!!!

A moth back, in South Mumbai, around 10 pm, I slowly stopped when the signal turned red before I could reach. Suddenly, somebody banged from behind. I turned back and let my emotions flow in the form of the most disgusting abuses ever. I stopped only when I realized rider was on a scooty with his child in front. He apologetically said he did not think I would stop on signal. I was like:
