• [SlideShow]: An Ideal Bike For You

So, almost everyone here has a bike. Ok - alter-ego. And we love our machines so much that we can't even withstand a single word against our machine. But, while searching for a new bike, all of us has gone through dilemmas. Reason - we had to make some compromises for each and every choice we had. We finally settled for the one which asked for least number of compromises from us. Isn't it?
Everyone has his/her dream bike/scooty. But, if given a choice, what would have been the ideal bike for us? The answers will surely vary. Something which suits me might not suit Mr. A and vice-versa. Now, all of us don't want a VMAX/HAYABUSA/HP-4. So, if you were given a choice to dictate the specifications(like engine capacity, bhps, torque, gears, tyres, brakes, electricals and of course the expected price in Indian currency) of your bike, what
would you have given?
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Approved!

A few threads exist for determining the best bike for commuting/touring. Yours is more in general, hence a new thread!

As aargee once posted, a rider has his needs, requirements and his wants. All these are 3 different things.

My wishlist is a 250+ cc 1+ cylinder bike with 30+ hp and ABS.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: An Ideal Bike For You

I always dream of a 4 stroke version of legend RD 350. Would prefer to own a Yamaha 350 cc, 4 stroke (preferably 2 cylinders) bike with atleast 30 bhp power, if launched in india. I also want the bike to look exactly like simple yet gorgeous RD. I hate too many fairings ! And of course disk at front .

Mine would be 600cc, 60-80bhp, lot of torque around 80nm, 2 cylinders, a cruiser set up, comfortable riding position and a sensible fuel tank around 20-25.

I'd like a caliber with 250cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine tuned for cruising on highways. Brakes should be 260mm front and 220mm rear discs. The headlights should be 55/60w with option for 100/90w bulb. Seating should remain unchanged as it's the most comfortable bike I've ridden so far. Gears should be slightly tall 6 speeder. Exhaust sound must remain the same as original bike. Fuel injection is welcome for sure. Tyres must be 90 up front and 130 at rear. Optional touring accessories must be available. Fuel tank capacity should be above 14 litres.

Re: An Ideal Bike For You

a V Twin with low seat height (am short). Bombing exhaust note. anything >500 CC and ~60/65 Bhp. Naked(ish) cruiser look or a cross between the sugomi and the street triple. returning around ~90mpg (I know, I know, not possible. But my "dream" bike ).

As of my dream, I want to own a bonnie someday.

I'd like to have an Enticer with a 250cc single-cylinder heart. Around 23-25 bhp of power, 55/60W headlights, ABS, 90/120 Zapper Cs and a price tag of less than 2 lacs.

My Ideal bike would have to be 200cc. 2-stroke. 20 bhp. Twin cylinder.Twin-headlamps. Twin exhaust. Slight knobby tyres. Disc brakes for both front and rear. Inverted forks. 18-20L tank capacity. Best possible power to weight ratio tuned to get the raw power plus confident handling.

My Ideal bike - Honda CBR 250 with Naked styling and proper exhaust note. I hate the Juicer Grinder type sound. Too smooth a sound for a bike big as this. Heck my RTR sounded much better. And a little taller 1st gear will be icing on the cake for city rides.

My ideal bike is Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500, factory-fitted with alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, 15V charger with 15A socket for my portable tyre inflator, LCD indicator for fuel efficiency, gear indicator, etc. I think, I am daydreaming.

A Royal Enfield with Kawasaki like build quality and reliability, 60 or so ponies, oodles of torque, minimal vibrations, great handling, brakes with great bite and feel and priced like KTM-Bajaj bike.
