Re: An Ideal Bike For You

250-300cc. Single Cylinder. 30Ps. 25Nm. Adventure Sport, ala the Versys.

I am more interested in the technologies.

    -Gear shift assists..
    -Electronic Suspension Adjustment.
    -TFT screens with phone connectivity.
    -Variable riding modes.

How would you have your bike served up with technology?

With so many riding aids, how will newbies learn the real art. I do agree that electronic aids are required, but on a 250cc. I do not think it makes much difference. All I would want is ABS and power as much as a cbr250r which I have and I am content.

      Cheers,
      Sanjay

I believe your first bike should never be anything above 15 hp, learn on a 150cc bike. Screw it up. Better if it's a second hand. Learn the art their.

on a 250-300cc, it would be a great added benefit. Turn them off if you don't want to use it, but atleast have it as an option.

Gear shift assistant- No clutch, required to upshift. A boon in traffic or Indian condition.
ESA- Again super important for Indian road condition. Plus we tend to travel +1. So would be helpful in improving the ride.
TFT screens with connectivity - Great visibilty, mobile phones are the future in riding. I believe it should trickle down to smaller bikes, with so many of us talking while riding, it makes sense to have a bluetooth connectivity with our helmets which can be handled via the motorcycle. ala the multistrada.
Variable riding modes - A bit of a stretch, but can be used to improve FE when not in a mood to exploit the full potential of the bike.

I wasnt sure if there ever existed an inline four 250. But i got the answer Plus I still dont know what the individual capacity of each cylinder would be. 250/4 = 62.5?

Whether it existed or not is different. But I would love to see a high revving machine. It will just squeel everytime you wring open the throttle.

Amen to that man, was researching and it turns out that they were a bit to complex to make. There was a scoop as early as jan 2015, which said honda was working on it. so was kawasaki. but I am not too sure if it is going to ever hit production.

Same here. I too had a glimpse of it or may be a render in some website showing a Jap magazine with a Kawasaki 250 Inline 4. It would be so good to see that machine come alive. But I have no idea about its practicality as it will be a very high revving machine and could be just track-oriented.

Where ever it lands, I still would love to see it atleast.

honda then actually showcased the bike, and it was a paralel twin.

I still use and admire Yamaha Enticer for the comfortable ergonomics it offers on long tours. 2nd your opinion about the Yamaha Enticer.

Just because this thread is about the improbable, my no-compromise bike would be a total tech toy. A 300cc triple(assuming it delivers like the 600cc triumph triples), Brembo three pot calipers with ABS aided by steel braided lines, dual front discs, quick shifter, programmable ECU/EFI tuner, 20litre tank, sports tourer application-super bike styling(think 2017 Ninja 650), rider modes(rain-sport-urban), full digital multipurpose dash with a data logger, GPS inbuilt and ability to pair with a phone/helmet to avoid any sort of rider errors associated with calls, intercoms, etc., projector headlamps(think ZX636), CF exhaust, ohlins USDs up front and mono shock behind, steering damper, comfortable rider and pillion seats and lastly, the bike should come with an inbuilt scottoiler e-system.

                                Too much dreaming? :P
Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.
