Your story may not have such a happy beginning... But that doesn't make you who you are... It is the rest of your story... Who you chose to be.

Re: I know I am a better rider
No hurts no issues just the classification of enthusiasts and punks based on bikes bugged me and by the way I know the duke enthusiasts you are referring to faced their enthusiasm a couple of times[emoji23] [emoji23] enthusiasm like leaving a guy with burnt rectifier in the middle of the road on a national holiday 150 kms away from townOriginally posted by sambit View PostDamn. People got me wrong here. All I was trying to say is, there are very less no of Duke owners in Cuttack, thanks to "No Showroom here" . And most of them arnt jerks either( based on the fact, they never provoke). And there are many idiots riding CBR here, but thank god they don't race with their own breed. All I am saying is, with increase in more no of Pulsars, RTRs,CBRs, R15s, the ratio of jerks has also increased. Time is not far, when Dukes will b common and here also thing will b same. Untill then, I am riding without interference.

Met another racing troll yesterday in office parking. Before I say anything else, please understand that it was (1) Monday morning and (2) I had driven for close to an hour in bumper-to-bumper traffic (3) in this heat. In short, my patience level was at it's limit....
So, this guy from office on (again) R15 comes to me and asks me various questions about the bike. No problem. I patiently answered. Then he asked about power, top speed etc. Answered. The question about top speed was followed by a statement: "You know, a bike is just as fast as the biker". I thought "Sure Aristotle, thanks for the great piece of wisdom" I said: "Sure buddy"
Then he says "You know what, lets test our machines, lets race sometime after the office"
I said "No thanks"
He insists "Bro, it's totally cool. We'll have fun"
Unable to gather the strength to extend this conversation any more, I said in my most sarcastic tone: "Arrey 'Bro', how can I race a pro like you? You are a seasoned rider and I am just learning to ride a bike... gear-wise.... Till now I have learnt till the 3rd gear. When I reach the 6th gear, I'll definitely let you know".
Mission accomplished.
Conversation terminated.

Mr.Rachitsharma..Fabulous Reply..Can't think of any line better than this. " "Arrey 'Bro', how can I race a pro like you? thats one fine quote there.Originally posted by rachitsharma2000 View Post"You think you are a better rider AND want to prove it.
I know I am a better rider BECAUSE I don't want to prove it"
I must confess though, i never tempted anyone for road race but i used to get tempted sometimes.
and it was just on those "sometimes" that i got carried away.
I know i shouldnt have, and with passing years the temptation has definitly receded.
i just dont see the point in it anymore.
not sure what works as a turn on for these road racers (RR's
) no matter what bike they are on, they will
try to overtake you, and overtake you they will! because these RR's dont believe in modern braking system, they only believe that their egos
shouldnt break. where you would justly manage your speed by braking or coming to a complete stop after seeing a red light or an intersection, a pedestrian,
these RR's would just fly by, putting their own and others life at risk.
Well, i say let them fly by, whats the point.
Sometimes i do catch up with them, signal them to slow down and try to initiate a small conversation by comlimenting them on some bike mod they have done
or just something or other or if the person is receptive enough, try and tell him the last maneuver he pulled was risky, just to break the ice.
Thanks for raising this topic, respect for life and safety of others and one's own self is of grave importance
especially now when there are so many fast bikes on road.

This is great buddy!!! Even if you managed to get just one chap pacify his racing instincts, it would be worth the effort.Originally posted by mehuel View Post

I am usually so disgusted by watching somebody undervaluing his own life that I could not even think talking to him. Plus if it were the racer's own life, I would not have any problems. It is the risk to other's life that makes me so bitter.

Re: I know I am a better rider
That is the precise difference between rash driving and fast driving... I think Street racing/ Driving Under Influence/ Red Light cutting/ Talking on phone while driving should be considered crime, not just road offence because these activities put others' life in danger too. On the other hand, not wearing helmet puts just the rider's life in danger.Originally posted by lakkadghatm View PostI ensure it is not risking mine or others life.

Re: I know I am a better rider
I just say to myself, buddy , you have someone waiting for you back home. Dont get yourself a body-bag. I too just let them stroll past, worst thing is, they just come so close to our handle bars or crash gaurd and cut across or show hand gestures. Like what Rachit mentioned, we dont have to prove it to anyone. We know we are better.
