How(where?) do you carry your bike papers?

In the bike? Like under the seat? Or separately, in your backpack?

If its the former, dont you worry that you will be left paperless *IF* the bikes gets stolen? How are you going to lodge an FIR? How are you going to claim insurance?

If its the latter, do you remember to take the papers everytime you go out? Do you ALWAYS carry a backpack?

Now that you have a new bike and are worried about it getting stolen, let us address your problem

A copy of all the papers in the bike under the seat always.

Originals in my backpack always. Backpack with me always. Even when i am not travelling by bike, i have a backpack and that backpack always has papers within.

Rolling papers: Papers which are essential to get rolling on two wheels

A backpack in an integral extension of the biker body! Very often i land up at parties with backpack in hand (or more likely packed on back!) and i am continuously ridiculed by non-biker friends!

In addition of the above a softcopy of bike papers saved on email as well as in phone memory. Now isn't that comprehensive!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

For the RC and the DL, I can understand. But what about the pollution, and the insurance? Do you fold the papers?

In Chhattisgarh, traffic police only asks for DL, RC & insurance papers. And insurance papers are hardly two pages which I fold.

Re: How(where?) do you carry your bike papers?

I have photocopies of all papers under the seat and originals stored safely at my home, also have pictures of docs in google drive.
One question though, is it necessary to carry originals with me all the time when riding?

I carry the original DL in my purse. Attested copies of the RC, Insurance and POC in bike's compartment/seat. If going for long rides, I keep the originals as well along in my backpack.

I carry my RC and DL in my wallet.

The insurance, pollution in the helmet lining.

I have a Royal Enfield helmet, which has a cloth lining and small openings only on the sides. I folded them in half stuffed them in a cover and put them in there.

Handy in a lot of ways. Two things you will never forget.

Wallet and Helmet. I guess you might forget your wallet, but there is an app called the RTA m-Wallet in my state, which is govt. issued so no hassles about the DL and RC.

Well as a rider, I never forget my helmet. I don't ride without one. So there it is.

I don't carry any original documents with me me or in the bike.

I have a photo copy of RC book and Insurance in the tank cover bag and another copy of the same under the seat.
Both are in a water proof plastic cover.

And a laminated copy of driving license in my wallet.

In my 6 years of driving in Chennai, I have never faced any inspection by Police.
