nano has the following specifications for its engine:
engine: 624cc, 2 cylinder liquid cooled, MPFI
maximum engine output: 35 PS @ 5250 rpm
maximum torque: 48 NM @ 3000 +/-500 rpm
mated with a decent transmission. the over all quality of the car is ok.
why cant our two wheeler manufacturers give us similar power and torque output bike with decent liquid cooled mpfi engine at the same price?
i dont mean the engine has to be a 600cc but a decent 300cc with similar output must be possible.
after all a much more steel, fabric, plastics and other parts are required for construction of a car compared to as required to construct a bike.
as per this logic, the bike is actually possible at half the price of nano.
and then there is second question in my head!
is the price justified that we pay for our bikes that is still in the air cooled carburated era??
can someone answer this?

When we can have a Kawasaki Balius 250/Honda Hornet 250 inline fours putting out 40hp and selling for less than 2L in the Jap market, I see no reason why the Indian manufacturers can't come up with something similar. Given that India has a significant cost advantage compared to other countries, we should be making multi-cylinder 250s for less than 2L. If it is not happening currently, it is only because of the manufacturers' disinterest/alacrity/apathy toward the Indian motorcylist rather than anything else.

(except a couple)
What is this, a Damn Test of Patience? or what?
