Re: How many kms does your full tank last?
That's in Theory. But, in practice there is a NOTICEABLE difference. I hv calculated the same and found to be exactly 2 kmpl less mileage per litre which translates to a 20-25 km less tank range over the 11 ltrs of petrol.Originally posted by Kos View Post

theory? well, as i said, maybe your windscreen is not correctly designed to give the best aerodynamic advantage. think about it. why would racing bikes be shaped the way they are if aerodynamics actually increases drag???Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostThat's in Theory. I think what Jack is trying to tell you, is that his windscreen is not aerodynamically designed! It's designed for touring, thus causing more drag.Originally posted by Kos View Posttheory? well, as i said, maybe your windscreen is not correctly designed to give the best aerodynamic advantage. think about it. why would racing bikes be shaped the way they are if aerodynamics actually increases drag???

Re: How many kms does your full tank last?
The drag which you are saying is related to high speed racing I guess to reduce effect of wind on the rider. Is it related to mileage? Not sure. But at slower speeds (Below 70 kmph), frankly speaking I have noticed a drastic reduction in tank range from 20 to sometimes 50 kms (In bad traffic).Originally posted by Kos View Posttheory? well, as i said, maybe your windscreen is not correctly designed to give the best aerodynamic advantage. think about it. why would racing bikes be shaped the way they are if aerodynamics actually increases drag???
Whats your view on that? These are actual real world results after all. Btw here's my bikes pic. It's a normal windscreen I guess.[emoji16] [emoji16]

haha true.Originally posted by leech View PostI think what Jack is trying to tell you, is that his windscreen is not aerodynamically designed! It's designed for touring, thus causing more drag.
i realised that after i checked out the pic Jack posted (sorry i dunno how to use the "mention" feature of the forums)
Jack, ur right, your windscreen will definitely do nothing for increasing fuel efficiency. but does it reduce wind buffeting for the helmet??

Re: How many kms does your full tank last?
Ya, it's very comfortable. Definitely makes journeys very comfortable compared to the naked version. It's much better than my earlier ZMR's windscreen (Mind you ZMR has an amazing windscreen). I'd say one of the best mods for my D390 I've done. It's worth every penny.Originally posted by Kos View Posthaha true.

Also, makes the bike a lot stable at high speeds (Due to the downforce I guess).

Re: How many kms does your full tank last?
A] Bike year: 2007
B] Bike name: Pulsar 220 Dts-Fi
C] Fuel Capacity (as per the petrol pump, so, overfueling to be considered):15 Ltrs (Typically a tank top fills in 13-14.x Ltrs, some of the cheater bunks I've seen it go to 16-17 Ltrs, but that's quite rate)
D] Kms on full tank (you may know full tank to reserve, and assume a safe range in reserve): Since its Fi, I have never measured empty to empty, reserve to reserve the best ranges seen are as follows
-
1. GQ (90-130 kmph) : Consistent speeds (90-100), limited gear changes - 550 Kms (~39 kmpl)
2. State Highways(40-100 kmph) Frequently Varying Speeds, Very Frequent Gear Changes, High RPMs Only - 350 Kms (~25): Varying Speeds, Frequent Gear Changes - 500 Kms (~35 kmpl)
3. State Highways(50-120 kmph) : Frequently Varying Speeds, Very Frequent Gear Changes - 450 Kms (~32)
4. Racetrack(50-120 kmph) :
However, the best range I have got till date was some 630 (~44 kmpl) kms on a single tank, with a easy paced GQ ride followed by a relaxed ride in the hills. With regular day to day city riding I get about 420-480 kms reserve to reserve.Last edited by Praful; 11-18-2016, 03:16 PM._________________________

200 NS : Total 500kms on approx 15L. Full tank + 4 L - 1 Reserve left(Approx.)
Constant Ride on highway, less gear shifts, speed approx range 85 - 100kmph.SOMETIMES,

A] Bike year: 2013
B] Bike name: RE Thunderbird 500
C] Fuel Capacity (as per the petrol pump, so, overfueling to be considered): 20 litres [filled upto the brim]
D] Kms on full tank (you may know full tank to reserve, and assume a safe range in reserve): 395 km so far with still few litres of petrol remaining.
While returning from my GJ ride from Pune to Bangalore, I got my bird's tank filled upto the brim at Reliance, Agadi, after Hubli and reached home at Basaveswara Nagar, Bangalore without refuelling [395 km] with still a few litres of petrol remaining in the tank, which will enable me to ride for atleast another 50 km or so. All along, I maintained 100 kmph on NH 4.

Re: How many kms does your full tank last?
Okay here comes the segment topper
Bike: P200 Feb 2k8
Full tank of petrol from Goa
Speed: 70 - 90 range, mostly riding at peak torque rpm of 6K which in 5th gear translates to 78~80 km/hr.
Distance covered: 900 kms. Not a typo. Not fake. Totally honest, very high fuel efficiency indeed. Fuel ran out somewhere past 900 and a little bit was used to clean the air filter previously that day while getting it serviced.
I have a Mojo as well and I've done Delhi - Jaipur - Delhi followed by another two weeks of occasional city riding before I hit the last bar. So that's a minimum 600 km range, might even hit the high 700s if I keep it relaxed.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER
