Re: D390 2017: Ktm has no solution, no recalls, no deadlines :: Protest begins now

    Hi All,

I am not a KTM owner though i was in a race with my mind of having one earlier. Let me come to the point, I own a rtr 200 and i had faced a Few Problems before, which after multiple queries with SVC and I being disappointed Finally went directly to the TVS Complaints page registered my queries which made me provide the nearest service center as well. Within a days time my query was directly told to the SVC center and i was made to give my bike to rectify the issues free of cost. Since then i get proper service reminders, feedbacks after service from both the service center and TVS about my bike's condition. My Question is KTM must be having such a complaints register page where your queries can be directly dealt with and an immediate action being taken to solve the problem at the earliest. But surely depends on how serious they take such issues and how fast these issues are solved. Obviously it's hard to be listening to the BS talks from the service centers and their lackluster responses, you can try to put these concerns directly on their website in the contact us section and try getting a best solution for your problems. Moreover like in the earlier posts in this thread you can check the international forums to check how these issues are solved and possibly ask your svc to take the same to course of actions to solve your mechanical concerns. Just my few bits. I hope i have not added fuel to the burning fire rather watered it douse off.

    Regards,
    Abi

Most of us including me have done that. They forwarded it to SVC to call the owner and fix the bike. And so they did. After 6000 kms my issue was back. They again did the same work and are promising it'll never be back!

Got the gaskets replaced from service center and I was riding today and then all of a sudden I felt like clutch cable is broken. I revv mathched and shifted to 1st and somehow reached home without stopping. Clutch cable is fine. It feels like something from the inside is disconnected. [emoji15]

2 guys from SVC came and said one of the plates have jumped from its position and require special tool to put back in to place! They did it in 20 mins and bike seems to be fine now!

Did it require opening up of the engine? How much did it cost?

              Opening the clutch side cover.
*Correction. It's the whole clutch that jumped. Not the disc.

Asking out of curiosity because these Dukes were codeveloped by Bajaj with KTM, does Dominar400 also have these issues?

Finally we have a news here.

KTM India has officially declared extended warranty of 1yr/10k kms over default warranty for duke 390s purchased between 1st jan 2017 to 31st March 2018. Everyone who is qualifying for this will get a warranty card from KTM in next 3 weeks.

I would really like to thank entire KTM team (especially the ktm lads in Mumbai) for acknowledging our issues and giving us extended warranty as a token for the feedback. Special thanks to the KTMs PAN india service head (Mr.Hawaldar) and KTMs Mumbai area service manager (Mr.Bhatt) to take out time and meet us for a face to face discussion.

I would also like to thank the owners who came together for this cause and gave proper feedbacks so that ktm improves on quality and we get niggle free bikes.

I hope the future launches from KTM will be error free and we will truly enjoy their machines.

@mods you can close the thread and spread the word. Thanks again for allowing a protest thread to be opened here.

                    Happy riding.

                    Regards,

But why are they only providing the warranty thingy... Instead of replacing & resolving the faulty parts... Do they want owners to keep running again & again to replace the parts under warranty. Unless they resolve the issue i don't think providing extended warranty will work any good in the favor of the owners & same issues are still there in 2018 dukes so y only on 2017 dukes?... Don't know wat ktm is upto.

They said they have solutions in place. So all the lingering issues will be sorted in coming months. As of now, I have got replacement of faulty parts and also my issues stand resolved.

Last 3 months I have had no issues. So its just a matter of time. Everyone will get the issues resolved.
