Losing 3 kgs will probably make the existing BHPs work against less resistance to give more speed !! Like a 17bhp 125 odd kilos R15 is faster than a 17 bhp 150 kilos ZMA.

It will not somehow magically increase the BHP figure !! Duhhhh !!

Also, wanted to add some points regarding, a few things I read in some posts here ! Removing rear view mirror to save weight is a stupid idea. Rear view mirrors are literally a life saver when in comes to let you see whats going on behind you. Also making the turn indicators small. That will make it all the more difficult for other vehicles (especially cars) to see that you are indicating for direction changes.

Also the few hundred grams you save in this way is hardly worth the risk !! You'd rather lose some weight !!

Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

      what about the handlebar ??

its an easily substituted component. and small enough that exotic light weight alloy fabricated stuff wouldn't break the bank.

how much of weight would that shave off ??

and going up the expense ladder, what about fancy front suspension forks ?? though this is bound to be much more complicated to integrate.

and while we are at it, does everyone use both the main stand and the side stand ? could possibly dispense with one ?
There once was a woman who was quite begat.
She had three babies named Nat, Pat, and Tat.
She said it was fun in the breeding,
But found it was hell in the feeding
When she saw there was no tit for Tat.

Going for the Ceat Secura Zoom 100/90 -18 is a good choice. I once wanted to opt for 150/90 Michillen Soft compound. It would have not only looked good on my P200, but was very light weight, and also would have worked like a virtual rear ABS for the bike . But then I had to modify my swingarm for that, which I don't advocate much.

Rightly said there bro..... going after rear-view mirrors or smaller indicators won't make much difference apart from jeopardising the already scant safety meassures on the bike. Instead we can go for integrated indicator rear view mirrors for the front indictors and dual color LED for the tail lamp which would be working both as tail lamp and also as Indicators (just need to get the circuit right.... still working on that). But yes, these don't make much difference towards making the bike lighter.

I say, if budget and availability of the right mechanical person is not an issue then we can go for light weight allimunium chassis keeping the chassis design same. That would make a huge huge impact in both the handling and kerb weight of the bike. But again, that mod needs a very high degree of skilled labor who understands the dynamics of the bike in question.
Again for the point you made about the center stand/ side stand, what I feel is, we can do away with leg guard and the center stand and go for light weight frame sliders and swing arm sliders. So, on one hand we would be shedding a lot of weight that way, on the other hand, the practicality of such a mod in India

It was the other way round! My earlier tyre was this Ceat which sucked! My newer one is the Dunlop Monster!

The best thing we can do to reduce weight is by riding our bike always in reserve

I think bikes should be heavy as it helps in stability of the bike.Whats the use of power if bike is not stable.

The lighter handle feeling in various pulsar generations is most probably due to the change in rake angle and swing arm geometry .

little change in rake / trail angle feels significant in the way bike handles .
There was a very good explaination of rake and trail angle ... not able to find it .
