Re: Changing to fully synthetic oil : Inital Impressions
Because even though it's fine to ride away immediately, it's still important to let the piston rings heat properly before subjecting them to max cylinder pressure, which is why the manuals also tell you to ride gently for that first couple of miles. And for the record, the ECU on my bike apparently does not set any such limit, even when the air temp is in the 10C range.Originally posted by knucklehead31 View PostATGATT: All The Gear, All The Time!

Put the phone away, put your helmet on, and ride!
Scooters are like fat girls: fun to ride, but embarrassing if your friends see you with one.

Re: Changing to fully synthetic oil : Inital Impressions Edit: 3000km update
Its has almost been three months since the switch, my ride has done 3000 km since then. Here are some of my observations
- The oil is still red!
. Its not brand new red but has a tinge of redness to it, mineral oils turned pitch black till the time I drained them (~1800kms). - No cold weather startup issues, temperature has hit 4 degrees several times and just a push on starter is all it needs (without putting choke, last winters it had to struggle).
- No excessive heating even on long rides (100+kms continuously).
- Smoother gear changes.
