Re: Thrash around on the roads less taken - XPulse 200

Went to book one today upon their call, after getting there dealership guys just flipped me off. Response was " sir, we wont book the bike for you as we are still uncertain about the delivery to our showroom by the factory". Like they completely forgot my face after providing me 2 test rides and calling me multiple times asking when I can come to buy the bike. Hero launches a great bike that everyone appreciates and process to get the damn thing takes longer that getting your DL done.

I am interested in red or white colour myself, however the green one looks like its ready for some battlefield action.

Any bookings done yet? Thread hasn't seen much activity in a while (I'm checking 10 times in a day )

Btw, the cut out weld on the frame to accommodate the exhaust pipe is kinda disturbing to see. I do understand they'd be tested for failure (FMEA) and all, but so were the first batch of Himalayans, until swingarms and frames busted wide open.

Same design has been used for a long time in Hero Xtreme (old 150cc). Hope that helps.

I have booked the FI version and they have told me my bike is in showroom and asked me to finish the formalities.

Initially I had booked the Red colour but later I came to know that Red and Black are carb and Grey, White and Green are FI, so changed to green.

Which showroom in Bangalore did you book at? I too booked one in green two weeks back but they are still waiting for despatch from factory apparently!

Its not that Red and black are only carb. The carb one is only in those colors. FI model u can have in any of the colors with gray, green and white being only FI.

Hero is playing smart and being very patient too. They are aiming to capture every segment. Initially it felt that they are acting weird but...

100-110cc - they completely own it.

                        125cc- the new glamour/supersplendor are a success.

Scooter- duet/maestroEdge, destini/maestro125 FI all are very innovative and picking up sales.

150cc- the new 200cc xtreme/xpulse range is intended to dominate the premium 150cc segment. The xpulse is already a hit and all of them are very VFM too.

200cc+ - they promised that they'll revive the karizma brand. Also heard that 300cc+ karizma and Xpulse are in the works. CS santosh himself has hinted it!

At this pace hero will again become a strong contender in the performance segment like they were in the early 2000s.

I'm not badmouthing anyone, but Hero only does well in the 100 cc segment.

125 cc - Shine is the super star not glamour or SS.

                          150-200 cc - Hero Xtreme 200 doesn't sells well.

Xpulse seems like a well made product, let's see how ell it sells.

So basically apart from 100 cc commuters, they don't sell well. Maestro sales declined, Suzuki Access is gaining the momentum. I bought a Maestro for wife, but I have to say I'm not too happy with it, though it was a good deal for the price, thanks to BS4 shenanigans.

A bigger engine on Xpulse sounds juicy though.

The initial batches of hero's self developed products had some engine related issues. But it seems that they've sorted them out.

Except the xtreme200r most new products have been accepted well by the masses.

Also they've ramped up their spare parts availability. Unlike honda, hero and bajaj don't take their customers for granted.

Honda is selling the xr150( impulse) and xr190 in nepal. Hope they get agitated and launch the xr190 in India. But the xpulse is still a superior product.

Bro making tall claims about spares availability and all, I have a P220 and I have modified it with spares from other Bajaj vehicles. I have never faced spares availability issue. Spares and service vary from city to city and dealer to dealer.

Again, Hero makes good products, I know. It's just that what you want from a vehicle varies. If you were to face electrical issues everytime it rained and battery going dud every few months, the fibre body rattle in less than 2 years, would you like that? Coz I prefer Honda and this was my first Hero vehicle, I felt like Hero products are hyped up to be too well made but deep down, their soul is commuter brand.
